So i took my transmission out and I'm replacing it with a new one but i figured i'd change the clutch too. From what i heard you can't just put the clutch in any way...apparently there's a certain position for the clutch. I don't want to f*ck this up so if someone has a step by step procedure on how to do this and would like to help me out, that would be very helpful n much appreciated.

No specific position other than her bolt holes lining up.

See page 15 & 16 of the service manual. The linkage section is before this. Wouldn't hurt to read it all.

You need to look very carefully at the diagram to figure out which way the throwout bearing goes on. It is not obvious.

grease all parts that contact another. Otherwise, you will can end up with annoying noises.

Other than that, if you are taking off the trans, replacing the clutch is extremely simple. It is really just unbolting it from the flywheel.

Don't skimp on the clutch though. I recently put in the exedy stage 1 clutch (you can get it at autozone) and really like it. I liked my jwt better but didn't have time to order it.

I agree with poster above, make sure you clean and sand the mating surfaces really well. I used a dremel with the brass wire wheel. It doesn't damage the mating surfaces and gets them nice and clean. You probably need two. If you don't do it, you could end up with a ground problem (like I did the first time I changed my clutch).
