The car is has the signal cable installed with the quick rca tap method using the bose factory sub line. The amp is behind the rear passenger seat and the gounding wire is set right next to the amp where the seat belts are located on the chasis. Note: i no longer have the bose factory head unit.

Had an accident today. How much do you guys think it'll cost to fix this?

Here's a link to a pic of the damage.
http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/1940/maxzp.jpg

Theres a couple of tears on the front bumper. The grill is destroyed. Will I also need to replace the hood? It doesn't close right...it's just popped up like that.

"best sounding" is subjective...look at some of the threads here with sound clips to help you make your decision

2002 3.5 maxima help!

wats up guys very new to the maxima game so please bear with me. i work on vw's and audi's and really dont know anything about these cars.

heres what i do know....i bought a 2002 nissan maxima its automatic and has a blown engine but the interior and the exterior looks so clean i just couldnt give it up so ive decided to replace the engine which is blown. is there a DIY on here that i can go by in order to remove my engine and check it out maybe even rebuild it if not im going to end up buying a crate motor which i guess wouldnt be so bad either. what do you guys suggest the previous owner stated it was knocking then when i got it i never started it or nothing since i took his word for it. also if you guys know where i would be able to buy this engine as well as gasket sets for a decent price id appreciate it. please let me know how to move forward on my new project as of now i just want to get a new motor in it and start driving it since its so clean it would be a perfect daily driver.

thanks in advance

Ron

Best thing or should I say most common and economical thing to do would be to replace the current engine with a low mileage used unit.

www.car-part.om has good deals.

few newbies lately that ask a question...wait for a few hours or days...then post the exact same question if it isnt answered...you arent going to magically get an answer the second time...all questions will be answered in this thread...even the most basic...just give it time

1. post the question
2. be patient
3. profit?

Really easy stuff there.
Didn't mean to blow you off, just haven't looked at the threads again since your answer. I think you have peer pressured (I have no idea if we're peers or not.) me into giving this a shot. That, and the fact that my local mech. quoted me $220 to $240, and that's with me supplying the plugs I've already bought! Greg, from the link you gave me, says this is probably beyond the skills of a Sunday mechanic, but heck, that's what tow trucks are for, isn't it?

I really don’t think you should take it the way he stated with respect to it being a non Sunday mechanic type of job. I can do it, and I consider myself, novice @ best. These cars are really easy to take apart and put back together, it just takes a little patience. I’ve found the most annoying of the jobs I’ve done working on this and my 95 Maxima was when I stripped bolts, and that was because I was being impatient.

I would give it a go. It now takes me less than 15 minutes to remove the IM.

For some reason I know this has been asked and I probably already know the answer since I don't see a huge post about it.

I love the way the 350Z sounds stock form. Is there a way to make the Maxima sound like that? I have heard cattman catback but I think it's too loud for my taste.

Hey guys....

I need a new passenger side LCA, front crash sensor and a LR wheel speed sensor for ABS. I am looking into where to buy them.

I will probably go with OEM LCA from Dave B because I heard some people have has issues with aftermarket.

The wheel speed sensor, I will probably do the same since its only ~$15 more than aftermarket.

But the front crash sensor (got a blinking airbag light) will cost $192.36 and I cant find it after market anywhere.....is it a dealer only part?

If not, where can I find an aftermarket cheaper?

Thanks.

Kevin

Maintenance before mods; looks like you need some damn tires.

And how about removing or resizing the massive picture that's stretching out the entire thread? Hell, it's not even rotated correctly. 1600x1200 inline is a little overkill, no?

OK so i got my car back from the douche bag dealer because i was having a problem with a power draw. Turns out it was because the passenger power seats was always on (no idea y) and it was stuck in that position. He said he could replace the whole thing and it would be like 2500 (yeahh my A$$) so i told him to cut it off. Turns out he cut off both the driver and passenger (driver was fine) So now i am stuck with the maxi having this awkward seat positioning. I am going back tomorrow to see why they did that and to get it fix ed but i was wondering if it was something i could do so i dont have to deal with them again. Would you guys think its just a fuse issue or more in depth.

Wow ok i just realized now my gauge cluster lights are out and my clock is out....... Nissan is going to get it tomorrow.

what kind of tires are you looking for? performance, all season, winter?

The more specific you are with your questions, the better information you will get in return.

I'm pretty sure that is an OEM part only. I spent $200 on the same back in March. My old one was an unrecognizable hunk of rust. After a few months, it was worth it just to make that damn light stop blinking.

Since your problem is likely rust, you may be able to pick up a used one from a southern car part-out.
