Hmmm...new issue to me. Perhaps you may have an internal problem with your tranny preventing it from shifting. I would take it to a shop or dealer and see what they say. Hopefully it is nothing too serious.

Also keeps the key in the ignition when you park as the pin comes up and actuates some plastic levers and a mechanical piece running to the ignition.

Looks like there is white lithium grease surround the pin. I sprayed with WD40 to see if things would loosen up...nope.

Any ideas?

I keep seeing DaveB's name. I need new coils anyway, maybe he'd have an idea on this one.

Sounds like you got a problem with an ABS sensor or sensors. The dealer can diagnose which sensor is the problem, or sensors. I'm not sure if other shops have the capability.

Man...please work on your English. It was rough reading your previous post to this...I had serious brain freeze trying to figure out what you were saying.

The pre-cats are located just after the exhaust downpipes from the engine. They are easy to spot as they are fatter parts of the exhaust with heat shields. The main cat is located about a foot down from the rear pre-cat. It is a fatter part of the exhaust with a heat shield.

The system will start a series of airbag light flashes to indicate what the problem is and most likely this will be as far as you'll get with an FSM, but without a Consult. IF the light was brough up by a glitch, as it did with mine, this may clear the light.

Sounds like they didn't replace the ABS sensor for that rear tire when he got into a accident.
Yeah ill try to reboot the light tomorrow. And also, I had to replace the whole rear axle unit with abs sensors and all. I believe that the rear axle was out of an 02 or 03 because the ABS plugs were different so I cut and sodered the old plug onto the new wires... BLK to BWN and WHT to WHT

First of all, welcome to the forum! To answer your question about the Bose stereo cutout, unfortunately its a common problem for all 5th gen Max owners (00-03). BUT, theres a fix for it, just go here: http://www.shiftice.com/bose_cutout_fix.html
If you'd like, I'd advise you to go around that shiftice site, it's like this org's holy bible. Hope that helps!

You would just have to go to Home Depot or somewhere similar and fabricate it yourself. There's a few threads in here about it, I'll try and find one. The grills for the 00-01 (all models) are the same.

Hello, I just bought a 2000 SE model last night and I noticed this morning that the radiator support is pretty much rusted through. From reading these boards I see that it is a fairly common problem but I am trying to decide if it is significant enough to return the vehicle for a refund. I paid 6k out the door which seemed to be fair considering the rest of the car is in good shape and is fully loaded and has 99k miles.

Should I head back to the dealership and return this car?

*UPDATE*

Took the car back

Uh, it could fully go out any time, and then it's gonna be hard to drive. I wouldn't take the chance, but that might just be me...

PIAA Sport Horns (500/600mhz). You can get them off Amazon for about $35-40. Andd when you say you don't want to replace OEM, are you wanting aftermarket along with stock? If so, you vehicles stock horn wiring may not support the additional load. These PIAA are just about a direct replacement. I had them in my vehicle before the accident.

The Infiniti G35 horns are pretty good, if you want a junkyard option.

You almost always will get a check engine light. Horrible gas mileage, loss of power, rotten egg smell, potential engine damage.

You might want to ask around in your area to find out who will program it for you before you get it. A lot of loscksmiths will not do it unless the key is purchased from them.

The stealership programed my eBay flip key so they should definitely do this one for me. There's also a couple automotive locksmiths I can go to. Does the key I postEd in the link look decent to anybody?

2000 stock front coil springs.

Hello all, I'm in need of a set of stock front springs and can't seem to locate a pair. Does Anyone here have a set they are willing to part with even if used but low miles a plus. PM me with a price. Thanks

my maxi of 7 yrs is finally leaking oil. Its been making some funny sounds and Im really worried for its life. The leak is coming from directly under the engine, I was told the gasket is bad...but not really sure. Its been making a humming/buzzing sound when I accelerate..typically at low speeds. I just broke 167k miles. So I am really just wanting to keep the car until its no longer functional, but I dont see that happening for awhile. I recently had a power steering issue in the past, but that was fixed. Anyone have comments or anything that can advise me in the right direction?

I've done alot of research and i can really find the detailed answers im looking for. Here it goes:
I just bought 350z rims and decided i wanted to lower the car. After researching H-techs will give me the smooth ride and moderate drop i was looking for (Im ok with a floaty feeling as long as im not bottoming out everywhere). Now i was looking for which strut is the best combination with the h-techs AND what other things should i replace at the same time (bump stops, strut plates ect.) so i dont have to go back down there again. And how much should i cut the bump stops? thanks for the help guys

I'm looking for a write up on how I can get a "chirp" sound like in an aftermaket alarm when i lock my 5.0 gen instead of the horn sound it has stock, without buying a whole new alarm system...is there any easy cheap mods to achieve this?

Or after the fix you can simply disconnect your battery for a bit, and the ces should be gone.

Hi,

I just bought a 2000 Maxima GLE. I would like to know if there is a (Thread) list of parts here that are interchangeable with this model. Navigation, Seats, Auto Shifter update, and etc. Has anyone put the 2010 maxima seats in the 00-03 maxima or G35 heated seats? I have done some searching but, I think I could be failing at it. I am not familiar with this car at all, if it was a 540i I would be golden but, I am new to the nissan game. Please help. You can send pm's so I can find what you have to say.

Thanks,

This has probably been asked and answered, but I can't seem to find the best search parameters. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a Nissan repair place in Nassau or Suffolk county, Long Island?

I did find someone say that Westbury Nissan was good, but that was a thread that was 8 years old.
