What don't my headlamps and foglights match even though they're both 6000k?
i don't know if you can tell in the pictures, but the headlamps look MUCH bluer than the foglights.

One is an HID reflector and the other is halogen...only thing i can think of besides the bulb thing.
|
i think its because the housing of the fogs are smaller. What im saying is maybe you should have gotten a 7 or even 8 k for the fogs if you wanted to match

Do the headlight bulbs have the masking on them or are they like D2S bulbs?
Looks good btw. My 6000k fogs look bluish, like your headlights. |
spark plugs,
my headlight/foglight combo is exactly the same.....it bothered me at first however, i kinda got used to it plus i get alot of compliments on how nice and bright the setup is. i was actually going to sell the helios low beams and probably get some phillips utiliton 6k bulbs and see if there is a difference. if not, my only guess would be the two different ballasts. BTW: yur car looks like a clone of mine..lol |
Are you sure that they are 6000k?
I have the same problem. when i put the HID in the fogs with what I thought was 6000k I noticed that they did not match. I did a little research and found out that I was sent the 8000k instead. I also plan on putting back the 4300k in to see if it would look any better.

HID bulbs color shift people, wait a few days. Or simply walk a few feet away from the car, you'll notice the light does match.

I have two takes on this:
1st...have you ever looked at the glass lens on the fogs? it has little rib's or diffusing angles in the glass and the glass isn't perfectly clear-its somewhat frosted...your headlight is perfectly clear and the reflecting surfaces are perfectly polished so there is little degredation in the quality or color of the light. fog lights are supposed to diffuse light and headlights are supposed to be a direct beam (more targeted) 2nd...as mentioned before there is a difference in height and angles...if you were at the same angle and in the focal distances for ea light, my guess is that the color will look the same |
mine match perfectly, but maybe cuz they are the same brand???
both the headlights and the fogs are prolumen |

same as my situation. i was told that in order to make the fogs match the 6000k d2r, the fogs would have to be 8000k. at first i thought there was a labeling mistake and i messaged maximabest but then i found out from a friend that it was because the headlights and foglights are different reflection. the fogs get diffused and watnot
