Stick with 5th gen, or swap for 6th gen?

i like my tires now and i like the stock 17's on my 2000 SE, i think the tires are fine because they are low profile and they dont have a deep tread to begin with, but they are supposed to be bad in the winter, so someone wants to trade me their stock 04 rims and tires for my stock 00 rims and Pirelli PZero 225/45ZR17's, any opinions?

Edit: car is lowered, see sig for mods

Those are PZero tires are great. I don't think you will have a problem if you are careful in bad weather.

Keep the wheels and tires, and put on winter tires

I use a -1 setup on mine stock '15" wheels, and ice radials replace 16". It's expensive, but it gets me up any road, and saves on the body damage.

Do you have a picture of the car with the Pirelli's? Those look like Continental Touring tires. If I am wrong, sorry.

My only .02 cents here is that if you trade someone for the 18" 's-make sure they do not have the Goodyear Eagle RSA's. They are horrible tires and are known to crack on the sidewalls!

I have the 17's and the Conti's are soft tires. Super soft. I just put Yokohama's yk520's on them!

Not sure if that is what you were looking for....

stick with the stock 17's. I'm not a fan of those 6th gen wheels. Not as sporty looking on a SE.

Just get good snow tires on steel rims. There were some good combo deals in the classified, but I think they all got cleared out when the snow started falling.
