Or save $200 for a mod that makes a difference. I like Cattman, but the exhaust is overpriced IMO.

If fitment and quality are great on this catback... you really can't go wrong IMO.

Well...I did it...got one and installed it. Let me tell you...I am impressed with the quality and fitment. I encountered one problem. I have a stillen rear lip and the muffler tips sit under the rear lip cutout. On my max, its sitting slightly to the right so its closer to the right side of the cutout.
After driving for 20 mins on the highway and getting home, I notice a little bit of the paint on the right side of the cut out is starting to bubble and its turning brown. Keep in mind...the tips are not even touching the lip...its just sitting closer to the right side. Not sure what to do. I hope its not going to burn a hole in my rear lip. Any ideas?

You should be able to adjust it a little by bending the exhaust hanger brackets. If that don't work an exhaust shop can do it for you for maby 40 bucks. Get it fixed quick so you don't mess your lip up.

btw how does it sound?

It sounds pretty good. In the lower RPMs its a nice deep growl. Above 2k+ its not loud at all. Highway driving....no drone at all..just a slight low rumble. Pretty happy with it so far...but then again I've had it on for only 2 days now.

you can use some hose clamps and put them on the left side of the hanger and tighten em up, see if that'll help your exhaust move away from your lip, or try it on the right side, see if they work.

Yeah....I tried the hose clamp trick but it still didn't help much.

you shouldn't have a problem with the install. The fitment is great.

"you shouldn't have a problem with the install" my ***! haha

Spent 4 hours under my car yesterday, but due to the stock exhaust being rusted over. When trying to take off the stock exhaust, kept breaking bolts, even with WD-40. Than rust was just falling off non stop, it's unbeliavable how rusted everything was for a 2003 and with only 50k. Also, the stock b-pipe was rusted solid to the cat. So I said **** it and took the car down to this ghetto muffler shop. For 20$ they took my exhaust completely off (they had to torch the crap out of it)

Drove the car back to my garage, the install itself wasn't bad. Everything fits great. The sound is very quiet, exactly what I was looking for, it's like stock but a little bit more aggressive. the muffler looks great with the rear bumper. Prolly won't have vids/pics for a while cuz I'm busy with school. Anyone in the NE/NYC area who wants to hear it in person is welcome to if they want.

Issues I ran into: taking off the stock exhaust, and I had to jack my car up 4 feet (3 wheels were off the ground) in order to feed the megan racing muffler over the suspension.

Well...of course when your dealing with the exhaust you should have expected to have a hard time with the rust. When I said you shouldn't have a problem...I meant that tlhe Megan exhaust will go on easily...no fitment issues. I had the same problem with the rust and I had to cut the bolts that connect the Bpipe to the cat. I am happy with the sound and quality of the Megan.

My exhaust should arrive in two days.
After the install I will have a video clip of how it sounds on a VQ30DE-K with a y-pipe, test pipe, and the Megan Racing exhaust.

why theres plenty, here its the same exhaust on the same car hows it gonna be different??? Maybe with headers yes but i doubt any of you are willing to shell out 800-900 for a set of cattmans that actually give you performance gains.

Sorry you have that doubt, but eventually yes I will shell out for the Cattman headers. There's only 2 clips of this exhaust, and neither are of very good quality. I'm looking for clips of JUST the catback, taken from a distance(not with the cam placed 3 inches away from the tips).

Regardless, I will probably end up getting this. Can't justify forking out over $200 more for the Cattman, as this exhaust is identical in look and sound and we all know a cat-back won't really give any gains. I'm doing this solely so that my car sounds better to my ears.

HELP~~~

installed for a month... and the low drone was driving me crazy=.=....
my setup was injen intake with kn filters + budget y-pipe, then MR catback.....

it is not tooooooo loud compare to civic with big a$$ 4 inch tips, but I am looking for something like quite when driving slow, but loud when WOT.... for MR, it is completely opposite... it drone between 1000-2500 rpm... and doesnt get louder when WOT....

got mine last week cars still in shop.
went down and visited her like the sound alot.
There were a few issues with my car tho.
the oem crossmember was way too high. the stock exhaust was pinched in 2 places. once I figure out how to upload pics from daughters camera I will post them. shop fabricated spacers to lower crossmember to create clearance.
while in the shop I had light weight crank pully put in. and im spacers. once manifold was off i had them replace plugs as well. anyone wanna guess what they found in plug 5?
here we go more cashola lol (Thx Dave B for the headsup on rear valve cover savings !)
hopefully I'll have her back tomorrow I miss me baby.

I don't have the full Megan Catback but just recently got the B pipe.

I have: JWT intake, Hotshot Headers, Megan B pipe, and stock muffler (other mods see my sig)

I have only had the B pipe for 4 days so the tone might change later on...

No fitment issues and rattles so far. Pleased with the outcome.

Impressions:
I have not really noticed a dramatic sound change. This I like. Got tired of the drone on my 4th Gen.
Quiet on the highway and then when I give it WOT, it sounds deeper...I like it...(plus by my butt dyno it pulls harder on the highway)

Jesse
