Pulstar Plugs?

Has anyone heard of this new type of spark plug? It seems rather interesting that prior tests claim approximately 2% fuel mileage increase and up to 10% hp increase over regular plugs.

So what might we have then?

And don't you dare say platinum because those are still regular plugs.

There is another spark plug thread on this page or the 2nd that mentions a dyno test with them compared to other plugs. The Pulstars appeared to have a 1-1.5 hp edge over NGK Iridiums but they said the NGK plugs had the most stable power curve. Doesn't seem like enough of a gain to be work 4 times the price, not to mention if they don't last as long, it would be a PITA to have to not only shell out another $150 for plugs, but to remove the intake (5.5 gen) each time you have to put in new ones.

yea i saw those pulstar plugs in popsci too, they sound good,
but at 25 bucks each (6 cylinders =150 bucks for SPARK PLUGS!!!)
i'd pass, unless i just had cash to spend...

i would be interested in hearing from someone who uses them however...

scottwax beat me to it...:/

Especially for a minimal 1-1.5 hp gain. :p

Anyone want to buy a bridge? I'll finance if you put 50% down.

RacerX1320 01-21-2008 10:34 PM

Pulstar

I just read about these plugs in the new motortrend. After reviewing the results i mean $150 for like 1hp and also not knowing how long they will last. Deffinitly doesnt seem worth it, better off just going with the tried and true NGK's.
