Who sells the authentic HID's and how much are they being sold for? I need some asap! Those of you that have them, do you like them?

I think Panasonic or Phillips had them (or maybe both) i get the 2 P brands confused. Wasn't there a group deal on em for like $750?

UMD_MaxSE Aug 6, 2001 05:50 PM

I think the Panasonic Vision kit is like $500..... I thought there was a group deal on them .....

IceY2K1 Aug 6, 2001 06:03 PM

yo_its_ok sells the Panasonic HIDs

They're about $495. They were $750, then $650 w/group buy, then $450 for a "vacation" clearence sale, and now there about $500. HIDs' prices kinda seem like the stock market.

I'm STILL waiting for mine though(almost 2-weeks!).

Any word yet Hogan? I'm getting anxious to install them.

I just recently like last week installed the Vision HID kit in my car and it is the $hit. I mean talk about beam projection and line of sight. Get them if you can, you will be sold.

What's so special about the Hid lights? won't fog lights and stock lights suffice?

HID Xenon lights actually have no filament. There is a capsule of Xenon gas in between two rods and the current passes over the the two rods and thus lighting up the Capsule. This creates a very intense and bright light with a Pure White or Bluish tint to it.

It uses only 35watts of power compared to a stock of 55watts. Plus this will last supposedly 2000+ hours compared to a stock bulb or 100hrs. This is because there is no filament to burn out.

This is the exact system that a Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Audi uses. You get to see about 3 times farther then normal lights and the fact that your light is pure white and it can light up more things.

You have to see them. The next time you are on the freeway or street at night, try to drive right next to a HID equipped car(ie.. Mercedes/Lexus/Acura etc...) Notice how far your lights go and then take a look at the HID'd car. It's pathetic how crappy regular halogens are. Expecially 9004s my 3-gen have. I guess the H4s on the 5-gens are better but notthing like hids.

Our Stock Fogs Suck A$$!! I put up a thread like a weak ago about possibly modifying the housing to fit a H7 or a 9006 bulb in there, cause the damn H3 bulbs never give out the color that would you get from a 9006 or a H7 bulb.

Or does anyone know a good COLOR H3? I aint paying more than $30 for a pair.

UPS will be delivering my HID kit today! I'd like to know if everything I need for the installation comes with the kit, besides common tools. Are any additional electrical connectors or wiring of a certain gauge needed?

mdeal Aug 10, 2001 04:57 AM

ru4real, where did you purchase from? I would think the instructions and requirements would be listed with the contents of the kit.

ru4real Aug 10, 2001 05:09 AM

From yo_its_ok :D

Mounting will take time since the driver side is kinda cramped. Plan it out before you attempt it.
Don't get gaga over it like a few of my customers have.
The kit includes brackets, and tie wraps for your install. Even nuts and bolts. I've done a sick pro install on a Civic Si, and made it look like it was there from the factory. Overall time 15-20 minutes.
If I can do it in the dark with 20 Maxima.org members swarming over me during a Hot Humid night in 20 minutes, so can you.....?????
If you need advice just drop me an email.

So they are on their way Hogan? Hopefully, today or tommorrow I should get mine?

Are there any problems with aim with HID?

I was just wondering if anyone has had a problem with the aim on your new HID kit. I was hoping to purchase some soon but wanted to know if there are any issues with the aim or anything.

Thanks!
Wadester
