Why can't we use a 99 strut bar?

I've heard that we can use the 4th gen strut bar but we need to do some hacking. If I remember correctly you have to cut off some bracket on the drivers side shock tower. I was taking a look at my car today and it seems like the C-shaped strut bars would work. Anyone care to share some info?

It depends on how big the ring is to make it fit.
Might need some hacking to fit.

Yeah, you can use it. But, you might need to "hack" away a little piece of metal on one side. That's all.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those expensive ones...is it worth like 90 bucks? Or is it just better to hack and whack and whatever else and use the 40 dollar 4th gen ones?

i have the 40 dollar bar
and it works just the same as the other parts.
Minus the metal piece

Do you have pics of the strut bar installed on your car?
