Retro-Fit Fogs to HID's

Please spare me the flame on searching....I did. (don't go there sooner~!)
I know info is out there....but I CANNOT find it easily, or quickly.

I'm looking to retro-fit my Fogs.
I'm 100% going HID, but I'm beginning to think that there are better options for lens assemblies, such as projectors that will give me better light casting on the road surface than the OEM housing(s).
If this is not your experience, then let me know.
I'm okay with keeping my OEM Fog lenses, but I will definitely be installing HID bulbs/ballasts. (one is cracked, btw.)

I'd prefer to have more of a DRIVING light than a Fog-Light, so to speak. But given the placement of the fogs, that may be a difficult proposition.

Can anyone direct me to a source, or even link for someone who's successfully done this mod??

THanks,
gr

DO these fit inside the actual OEM housing after removing the lens??

Help me out -- I've not seen how you guys retrofit these buggers.
I'm also assuming these are just the housings....HID guts are EXTRA??

sorry for the newb questions.

Uh - thanks?
I have read your project post before, but it was WAAAY more info and work than I EVER wanted to get into.
Nice job....just not for me.

I installed a 3-lamp HID system into my motorcycle, and it was a be-otch...mostly due to space constraints.

Well there was no answer for your question, I think only one person has retrofitted projectors in his 5th fog lights. I gave you the link for quite possibly the best mini projector for a fog light, as well as the #1 forum for help. Now it's up to you to be the pioneer. Good luck :)

...and for that, I appreciate it!
I basically pioneered this for my bike, and it was a pain...but worth it!

It's a reflector-based OEM array, and I say b.s. to all the naysayers that said an HID system won't work in that capacity.
It flat-out BLOWS the OEM lights away!!
I love it when people FLASH their high-beams at me when I only have the low-beam on!!
It makes me laugh under my helmet, because I know that's one more idiot driver that WON'T be crashing-into me today....!! --see and BE seen!--

If this gets too complicated I MAY just drop the bulbs into OEM housing, and call it a day. I don't want to have to get silly with fabricating brackets and such.....
I'll do some homework and get back here with a post.

thanks again.

Hack up the OEM back of the foglight. Cut existing harness on OEM foglight. Cut the harness on the HID igniter/ballast wires. Crimp OEM wires to HID wires. Install HID bulbs. Done.

wow... you know people flashing their high beams at you isn't a good thing right? because that means that your lights are blinding them to the point that it impairs their vision.. which means they could actually crash into you given the right circumstances.. i think you might wanna re-evaluate who the idiot is in that situation you just described
