I need help installing washer nozzle LEDs
I got my washer nozzle LEDs today, and I see there are two wire (for each nozzle), one red and one black. I want to hook them up to my headlights, but I have no clue how to do it. Can anyone assist me? Thanks!

For most electrical stuff, usually red is for 12V power and black is for chasis ground. I personally wouldn't recommend to power them up with your headlights, but instead with your parking lights. I haven't experimented much yet with the Max so I couldn't tell you where the wire for the parking light is. If you have a test light or a volt meter you could check it yourself. Good luck!

Do a search.
Empz has a writeup on that.:) |
Here is Empz's writeup on installing washer LED's
I used "3M" (or Imitation) WIRE TAPS. It will make it MUCH MUCH easier ... You don't HAVE to ... but It will require SPLICING and RECONNECTING. (Dangerous and Harder) Here's What the Look Like: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/show...t_ID=2048&DID=7 ** Get 22 Guage Wire Taps ** First off ... get some Electrical Tape or Shrink Tubing and WRAP the Wires from the Windshield Washer LEDs. Take off original Windshield washer by Pushing (very hard) from the BOTTOM of them, Under Hood. Install Windshield Washer LED's like Back of BOX! Run Wires along the Edge of the engine bay (inside), to CORNER/PARKING lights Take off Licence Plate, along with BLACK Base/Holder. Wires from Lincence Plate will have to be EXTENDED, not Nearly as Long enough. Splice and Connect to a Longer Piece. Thread Wires Through Screw hole of Licence Plate, and run wires to CORNER/PARKING lights. ** Read RUSS' Write Up on "Rewire Corner Light to Blink with Signal for PICTURES of the Wires on the PARKING Light" it will give you a BETTER Idea! ** http://www.5thgenmaximas.com/clearrewire.html WIRE TAP the RED Wire from LED (Windshield Washer LED) to the RED Wire on the PARKING LIGHT. Then WIRE TAP the BLACK Wire on LED to the BLACK Wire on the CORNER LIGHT then all U gotta Do from There is WIRE TAP the wires from the LICENCE PLATE, to the Corresponding Wires From the WINDSHIELD WASHER LED (the ones U connected to the PARKING LIGHT). A little Confusing ... but once you Start working U'll understand!!! :) |
Guess what, I had 13 pokemon kids come to my house last night. I think it was a craze.
by the way, windshield washer lights are ricey... and this is coming from a Honda owner  Washer lights = belong on altezza-lamped accords and civics. Please don't disgrace your maxima with them. But, if you do, might as well go all out and get tha GTR wing you've been so desperately wanting, and that neon underbody kit, and those spiffy NOS stickers, without the nitrous of course. other option
you should also consider wireing the lights up to your turn signals only..so when you signal the corresponding like blinks with you blinker..looks good
just a thought jersey |
Originally posted by Greg's2kGLE Thanks for your input. But if I wanted to know what people thought about the LEDs, I would have asked. Since I didn't I don't appreciate it when people tell me that something I am doing is not to their liking. I asked for help, not opinions on whether or not they were cool. |
