Synthetic Tranny Oil question.

I just changed my transmission oil from regular to synthetic, but it does not feel any better, actually it felt much notchier. After the change, some gears are harder to get into, and it does not feel smooth at all. I'm not sure if i did something wrong, the only thing i could think of is i did not refilled enough, but i filled up til the oil comes over top (while the car is still jacked on an incline). Could anyone point out what could possibly be wrong?
Thanks!

Did you just drain & fill or did you flush your system? Also, what do you mean you just filled it up "til the oil came over top?"

i did drain and fill, i thought of flushing, but i had no idea how.
when i said filled til spilled overtop, i was just doing exactly as one of the tutorial i found on the net. You fill it until the max amount possible.
Btw, the old oil looked 100% clean ( i did it, because i wanted synthetic, and i had no record of the last tranny oil change from previous owner.)

Did you use the spec. listed in your Owner's Manual? API GL-4, SAE 75W-90 for the Gen. 5 & 5.5 (75W-85 is optional on the Gen. 5.5.)?

I had to do an emergency fillup in vegas one time becuse whoever replaced the axle before i owned the car, installed it wrong so i started to slide out and dumped pretty much all of my gear oil.

Any way long story shout. all i could find in a gl-4 was 85w-90 and it was like trying to stir a bucket of rocks until i got home and was able to get the right viscocity

I used motomaster 75w-90, it worked great for my 4th gen.
I guess i'll wait until the clutch goes out then change them altogether. (clutch is starting to feel really loosy.)
