Why won't a 4AT from an '02 work with my '00?

Title says it all. I posted a thread in FS/FT lookig for a 4AT and someone has a tranny from an '02 maxima.

Why won't this work with my '00 GXE?

What would I have to change?

traction control and maybe the differential is different requiring 02-03 drivshafts? My quess.....

Valve body electronics are different, I believe. Also the internals should be beefier, to deal with the VQ35. Those two differences are why it was labeled the RE4F04B, IIRC.

I see a lot of the parts are identical. The diff is identical, so axles would interchange. The solenoid pack has a different PN, so check out AT/EC/EL for the wiring to see if they're interchangable.

Other than that, it'll bolt on and your current axles would work. Not sure if it uses a VSS or not, though.

Vehicle Speed Sensor.

Hm, ok. Driveshafts are the same.... speed sensors are different though. I'm hoping I could wire the '02 units to the '00 TCU without too much difficulty...

The control solenoids are the same as well.

...and rebuild kits appear to be the same....

I'm gonna delve into my Haynes book for a while, and then I'll consult the FSM's.

Maybe with just a couple mods I might be able to put the '02 4at in my '00... (maybe?)
