New Member 2000 Max So Cal Cranks Wont Start

First off Thanx to this site n members past posts ive been able to fix alot of small issues ive had with my car and appreciate advice...Im in Inland Empire So Cal and my car was my daily driver till about a week ago. My car was running ok it has 137k but now it cranks and wont start. I may have immobilized car after so many attempts of attempted jump starts and maybe worse. There is a burned wire smell inside and no chk engine light at start i plug in obd scanner and reads no link. Ive checked fuses relays and all test ok. My next guess was e.c.u but i dont want to make things worse so b4 i tow to dealer any last minute ideas advice and insight would b greatly appreciated.

Any info on good affordable techs or garages in 909 951 area

The burning smell is not a good thing. There are things such as the IACV (Intake Air Control Valve) that will cause integrated circuits in the ECU to burn up, although usually the car will still start (key word being usually).

If you have an ECU problem, the best bet for accurate diagnostics is the dealer. Very few independent shops understand the electrical systems.

Go to the West Coast forum and maybe you can get a repair shop recommendation.
