Won't be around here much anymore

The 6 speed in traffic was really grating on me. It didn't make much sense for me to have a car with that much power and a manual shift and being stuck in traffic all the time. Sure it was great when I drove it in light traffic, but for me that was a minority of the time. Now I remember why I converted to automagic 10 years ago. My new daily driver is an Altima 2.5 S automagic. It's comfortable, rides and handles great, get's good gas mileage, and is perfect for the area I drive in. I'm currently looking for a Buick Grand National for my play car for the drag strip. I hope to pick one up this winter.

I'll check this forum occasionally, since you guys are some of the nicest and fun people to be around.

blackY2Kmax Nov 20, 2001 09:25 AM

Paul,

Congrats on the Altima purchase - hope you enjoy it. Just wanted to say thanks for the help you always are willing to provide. Hope you stop by every once in awhile.

Matt

I don't know guys but this seems fishy? Nothing against paul but i think we got ourselves a hacker. The reason for this suspicion is for gtr's comments about leaving the board all of a sudden. Now this, paul just got his six speed, why would he just trade in an investment so quick. There is no way, remember when he got the max he did all these tests and said how he loved driving standard again. Somethin seems odd. How can we find out what's going on?.

WOW!!!

Seriously,
Did someone Hack the database (UserID & Passwords) or what?

TAGURIT Nov 20, 2001 09:48 AM

Who knows paul probably can't post because the hacker changed the password, same with gtr.

That is weird..I also thought about GTR riders latest post of "he isnt coming back"..It is possible a hacker broke in but you'd think a hacker would be posting insults, curse words and causing choas and not polite civilized posts....Who knows..this kind-of reminds me when Yongjun posted his car got keyed and that same day someone had the same post about his car also got keyed..

Is this some kind of joke?

He may have purchased the Altima 2.5 S because of financial reasons. He probably took a bath when he traded for the 2K2 and may have traded down to reduce the loan amount.

Blackgums100 Nov 21, 2001 08:49 PM

Oh well

If he had taken a bath on the loan, maybe his wife pressured him, etc... I could understand. But because the manual bothered him after a little less than a month is just weak.

Greg's2kGLE Nov 21, 2001 09:24 PM

:bawling: At least you got to drive one....

TimW Nov 21, 2001 09:30 PM

I totally understand..

it's *just* a car.. and there are times I miss my Honda civic. there are just times when a more nimble car is just better. Like traffic.

You're also mentioning money, well it's not all the car note. there's better gas mileage and lower insurance. hey, whatever the reason, I applaud him for getting the car he *needed*. Priorities change.

Regardless, he is/was a contributing member who participated alot. Sad to see him go. No need to diss or pry into his reasoning. Just wish him good luck - though I doubt he'll go far :)

Emax got his Sterling Mist 6spd today! Muahahah, the car is down right awesome! It has to be the easiest engine in the world to brake in, I passed 3 cars and a 18 wheeler today{one lane road} and never went over 3K RPM! That's what I call low end baby! I am gonna get some pics up of it tomarrow  . BTW any update on you dynoing your car?

You're just waiting til the air gets really cold... cheater. :D 210 FWHP, here you come.

Paul, sorry to hear about you giving up the car, but I understand. This place makes everyone a little crazy, you've got to step back a bit sometimes. There's been quite a few times I've barely avoided buying something I realized later I probably shouldn't. Good luck with finding a GN, those things are insane. :D

I never thought i would hear the word, has too much power for a maxima. :slant:

I got my Majestic Blue Monday and how have about 300km. That is not bad considering when I first got my 99SE I put on 250km the first day, and 3000km within the first month. I took it to the next province (Alberta to BC).

I like most things about the car. I have the urge to Zaino, so will do that today in 5 degree celsius weather. It is easy to pass, but it is also easy to go past 3000rpm. I got it to 4,500 couple times, and when I let my friend drive it he took it to 5000 in first and I said, this IS a standard transmission so shift
