Well it's been fun
Bought my first Maxima in 2000 and thought I'd be Nissan for life. But after a lot of research and soul searching and budget balancing I came to the conclusion that I needed to move on to something else. I just couldn't justify the extra expense of a 7th gen.
I haven't posted much but I have learned tons from all you guys. Thanks... http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...5/DSC01390.jpg '09 G8 V6 Panther Black Metallic Comfort and Sound packages. You'll find me now over at www.g8board.com. -Dennnis- |
i guess you personify not knowing what you have until you dont have it.

I have the same feeling about the 7th gen Maxima...can think of about 10 other cars I would buy over a $40k FWD Maxima

I feel the same way about the 7th gen. I'd rather get the 370z sport package list at about $34,000 MSRP

What exactly is the purpose of this thread? I don't see how it serves the Maxima.org community.
Having driven the G8 GT a number of times, it seems an odd choice regardless of budget and whatever soul-searching. I hope you don't regret it 5 years from now, although I'd lay down odds you will. Good luck with that decision. |

Good luck with that decision. Sure Pontiac is gone as a brand but GM isn't going anywhere. I have too many of my tax $$$ invested. So my 100k warranty will be honored even if it takes weeks to get the parts. The G8 itself is a 6th gen platform made by Holden of Austrialia. There is a very healthy modding community out there. I loved owning my 2k. But after 147,000 miles she was getting to old to be my DD and I needed something new. With 10 kids and a tight budget I bought IMO the best bang for the buck. I'm not knocking the Max. I'm not knocking this board or its members. A big part of my enjoyment was learning about the car from the good folks right here. I was just trying to say thanks. -Dennis- |

With hindsight, I should have just said "good luck" only, or nothing at all. Expressing my opinion on the G8 serves no productive purpose. I apologize for that. So again, good luck. Or rather, considering the Holden, G'day. |
If I were to get a G8 it would definitely have a v8. Why did you go v6?
