E-brake doesn't work, help would be appreciated

I have a 2k maxima. My e-brake hardly works, for instance it comes up very easily, I hardly have to pull it at all, and when I pull it up it barely applies the rear brakes, even when I pull it up as high as it goes it barely acts like it is braking...

I've driven many cars and I know an e-brake is supposed to be better than this. I figure the e brake is accuated by a cable...and perhaps it is loose? Is there a way to "tighten" this cable or to adjust my ebrake so it will be like new. Btw I have new rotors, pads, calipers, and lines on all 4 sides of the car so it's not that my brakes are shot.

Do you press in the button when you pull it up?

Your best bet will probably be to just bring it to a shop, they'll tighten it for cheap generally.

Lol whats good man! Your car definitely looked dumb fresh. And ya my cam shaft position sensor came loose, had it fixed the next day, but missed the track =[

But yo you should paint the inside of your headlights to match your car, that would look so ill! Hit me up if you want it done...

i have the same lights as yours. they should bake open just fine. and yeah next track day we will go, im hoping to run mid 13s on a 50 shot, that might be a record for my set up. we will see!

e brake cable could have come loose during the brake job. crawl under the a$$ end you should see where the cable splits and runs to both calipers. If it came unhooked off one side that would explain the looseness and weak brake effect.

i have the same issue. i looked underneath the car (02 6-speed) and the cable seems to be "tight" at the calipers, but i didnt see where it splits to each wheel it goes on top of the exhaust and i cant reach it, not even see the split. and the 10mm nut in the handle, under the boot seems to be all the way in, there is a lot of screw protruding after the nut, i actually didint get a socket long enough to reach so i couldnt do anything with it, but if i pull the ebrake it goes all the way up, almost to the sunroof:D. it annoys me a lot, any more suggestions?
