245/35/19 is the best size to keep your speedo accurate

mist max2000 Mar 18, 2010 12:58 PM

you could run a 235/35 as well..

a33_ridah Mar 18, 2010 01:30 PM

rayss

im using 225 40 19 in front and 245 40 19 in the rear...
you may have rubbing issues as i do,depending on your drop.
i am on tokico whites/vogtland springs.

Z-Powered Mar 18, 2010 02:15 PM

^ Wouldn't it be better to put the 245s in the front? Or would there be rubbing issues at full steering lock?

knight_yyz Mar 18, 2010 08:22 PM

245/40/19 is almost 1" bigger diameter than stock, and IMHO 225s on a 19 is probably stretched

Ace06 Mar 18, 2010 09:23 PM

245/45/19 all the way around on Rays M45 Wheels on 2001 Max with H&R drop.

knight_yyz Mar 18, 2010 11:11 PM

^ holy crap that's 1.8" bigger than stock diameter!! your speedo is out by 5mph when doing 60!!!

Jess Mar 18, 2010 11:14 PM

Yep I've ran 3 sets of 19" wheels and always go with 245/35/19 :D

a33_ridah Mar 19, 2010 12:30 AM

maybe im confused??
the rays are staggered...being 8.5 in rear how can you go same sizes all the way around? will the same width 245 tire fit a 8 inch rims and 8.5 inch rim?
i have them, 225.40.19 in fron. 245.40.19 in rear

sixteenXnine Mar 19, 2010 05:47 AM

I have same size tires on all four corners... 245/45R17's on base 350z rims. Works fine. I'd like to go with 235's next time though, as even with the mudflaps on, there's a LOT of road spray that has promoted rust near the fenderwells. :(

crazymax2k Mar 19, 2010 08:48 AM

i have them on my max and im on tokico illuminas and h-techs just run 225/40 in the front and 245/40 in the back u can run 245 all around but they will rub in the front especially in the front if you dropped.

LowVybez2DeMax Mar 19, 2010 09:07 AM

im running 225/40/19 front and rear

vastmax Mar 19, 2010 09:27 AM

19x8.5 +29, 245/35 all around here

a33_ridah Mar 19, 2010 10:04 AM

the people that are running same tire size all around, either have all 4 sets at 8 inches or 8.5 right????...like traded with someone.
im still tripping. i thought a 8 inch rims tire wouldnt fit a 8.5 inch rim

you can run a 8 in a 8.5 it will give you that stretched tire look but it can be done depends if your gonna run 40's or 35's.

joesae01max Mar 19, 2010 10:29 AM

yup, 245/35/19

I have had both 19x8 and 19x8.5 running 245. Depending on the tire the stretch is so small it's barely noticeable. :) Plus with those Ray's may look the best to run the 245/35/19 front and rear. If you go to 235/35/19 on the 8.5 width wheel it's more of a stretch and more noticeable. Unless that is the look you're going for lol. :)

Though, good news is with a 235/35/19 on the rear you won't scrub as much if you're lowered.

Haven't had a problem with scrubbing in the front running a 245/35/19. I did however with 245/45/18 lol it was on a set of stock Maxima 6th gen wheels.

ya i got 245/40 in the rear on h-techs and they rub so my 245/35 would be better. but at first i was on 245 in the front and they rubbed too so i switched to 225/40 and have no problem at all.

a33_ridah Mar 20, 2010 11:59 PM

good to know. i need new tires soon anyhow..so ill be looking for 35's

a33_ridah Apr 10, 2010 10:38 AM

I just purchased ur exact rim\tire setup (not yet installed): wondering if you had any issues with rub stock or dropped and if you would have done anything differently concerning said drop. i have yet to drop my 02SE.

265/30/19 here :D

RLW001 Jul 6, 2010 09:51 AM

So jealous of you guys who live where the road are good. In PA with a 45 mile commute I have to stay with 17s.

RAZ76 Jul 6, 2010 12:28 PM

You can run a 245 35 19 on a 19x8 and 19x8.5 and you would not even notice the difference.

sigh: i miss my old maxima above...what it couldve possibly been today had i not sold it then
