I have an Muiltiple Misfire help
Hi, I have an p0300 on my 03 max 6speed and a p011. I have a quick question Is the p0300 there because of the p011 thats a cam postion sensor actuator A bank 1. I also pulled the plugs on the car and they were badly soaked with oil deposits and the car had recently been with a tune-up. I know that the 3.5's are notorious with the burning oil situations but,if my car has a p011 and the car will misfire becuase the cams are not functiioning properly. right?

I have a p0300 Multiple misfire code and a p011 Camshaft sensor code. The question here Is If I change the sensor will that stop the misfire and the hard pulling or the banging the engine is doing. Read my other post and see if this is a realated factor.

If the plugs are oil soaked, then you will have a misfire.
It sounds to me that your tube seals may be the problem. I would upgrade the valve covers to 04 ones and throw new plugs so this does not happen again.
The cam sensor code is a different story. This could be either electrical or mechanical. Cam actuators and cam sensors could go bad, causing your P011 and p021 codes. But, before you start replacing those expensive parts, I suggest you do an engine flush.
I've seen these VQ35s have mechanical cam timing problems due to a build up of sludge in the cams.
As far as the hard pulling and banging, you're going to have to be a little bit more specific about that.

Ok, I have just replaced the cam sensor and the spark plugs. I know that now the car is running great and the cam sensor code is now gone. I realize now that car has a muiltple misfire code again. I was looking at the plugs and I noticed plugs #5 and #2 and #4 have carbon deposits and some oil on the plugs. I have also noticed the car Is smoking alot when I am reving the car and I hit about 3k-5k RPMS. The smoke is so bad that I could smoke the whole neighboorhood. I am worried that I might need to get some pistons seal and some ring seals and take the engine apart. If I had some tube seals going bad wouldn't of I have oil on the top of the plugs instead of the bottom of the plugs. I HAVE AN 02 WITH 191,575 ON THE CLOCK. If I get the motor flush will that get rid of the smoke or the smoke treatment from the STP. I was gonna try the throttle body cleaning to help out on the idling.

Blue smoke coming out of tailpipe = bad rings, valve guides or both.
I assume you have a VQ 3.0 DEK. I am not that familiar with them, but I do not believe they have a piston ring problem like the 3.5. Perhaps someone can chime in.

No, I have my friends car that I am working on and that car is a 02 MAX with a 3.5L. I just did a tune-up and a cam sensor change. I am seeing blue smoke coming out of the tailpipe and the plugs were caked with oil on them. The part that had oil on the plug was the part thats in the combustion chambers, Are the tube seals gonna stop the muiltiple misfires and the low idling. I know that car needs some motor flush because It has carbon build up on the plugs and in the engine. I know he has about 191K and I am hoping that he does not have to take the engine apart to do the rings or valves.

My 03 6 speed recently had the p0300 code. The #5 plug was filled with oil and the ignition coil was soaked with oil. The cheap valve cover is the problem. So I had all the plugs replaced and the #5 coil replaced. They didn't have the cover in stock so I ordered a 04 front and rear cover. My p0300 is gone and the car runs great again...
