Put on 18" SE-R's & Coilovers : ?'s on Spacers (Pic Included)

I lowered the car a good amount, and replaced the stockies w/ 18" SE-R wheels.

My question: To all who are in a similar setup, do you have spacers in the rear & what size ?

Quick Specs: SE-R wheels = 18x8, 45 offset.

So, the rears are tucked in as of right now. My tire size is 225/45/18.
I might go with 245/40/18 & spacers in the rear. Just wondering would a 15mm spacer rub with the tires, either 225 or 245 width?

Crappy pic for reference:

going wider tires and spacers may make it rub especially if you're already tucking

If you want a spacer then you will also want a tire that is less wide.

for reference i had the G35 wheels on my 5th...18x8 with 30 offset (essentially what you will be running if you get 15mm spacers) and 245/40/18 and i had no rubbing issues in teh rear. right now i'm running 19x9 with 30 offset with 265/30/19 and i rubbed on some bumps...i rolled the fender...no problems..

So with a 225/45 size tire & 15 mm rear spacers, I shouldn't rub I dont think ?

just go take a quick measurement with a tape measure

Crusher103 May 8, 2010 09:43 AM

roll those fenders.

I'm trying not to go that route. And by tucking in, I meant that the wheels are too inside the wheel well, and this is because of the 45 offset.

measurement and roll the fenders...rolling the fenders is not hard or expensive and will not be noticeable.

trust me on this one just roll those fenders, especially the rear ones. I put stock Z wheels and tires on my car and had rubbing issues, it was crazy.

be very careful though. it takes patience or else you'll crack the paint and you'll get major rust if you live in snowy winter areas.

phatboislim May 9, 2010 08:25 AM

didnt think about that...i'm in the south...so we dont have 'snowy winters' down here
