2001 Bose Volume issue

Just bought a 2001 GLE for my wife and the BOSE head unit works fine other than you have to push down on the volume knob and turn to adjust the volume and the steering wheel controls don't work at all. Anyone experiencing the same issue or know of any solutions? Thanks in advance

I have the same problem.....I stopped using the headunit knob completely and kept trying wheel controls, eventually they started working and that's all I use now.
