Who's had a tranny rebuild?

If so then did anyone have any problems afterwards? For example. Had mine rebuilt 5 months ago and lately here my fourth gear pops out of gear sometimes. What could this be? It wasn't happening before it was rebuilt. Can anyone help me?

I have had my transmission replaced, not rebuilt, but I thought it might help. When my transmission was replaced, it was a used transmission, that was supposed to be in perfect working order. It worked great for about three days and then I noticed it getting worse. After a week it did not want to go into 2nd gear and when in 2nd gear it would pop out occasionally. It turns out the shop put in a cheap aftermarket clutch and 90W gear oil.

The 90W gear oil was way too thick for this transmission, you would use that on an old chevy truck. The cheap clutch made everything clunk, created too much movement and the thick oil pushed my gears apart.

Anyways that is what my friend, who has been a Nissan service tech for 25+ years said.

I purchased a stage 1 clutch kit off ebay but it's been doing great. maybe they put in the wrong gear oil in mine also causing my fourth to pop out. I'll have to check that out. thanks for the info. it's back at the shop right now and hopefully they're doing something about it. i'll keep you updated.

Getting mine rebuilt cause reverse was gone and didn't have time to look for used one and plus this one I get a 18,000 mile warranty or 18 months so going to be driving normal but will go to the track and see whats up at the 1/8th in S.D. till I hit Vegas maybe!!:D

I doubt the oil is thick enough to break the transmission shafts.
