2K2 sound system question

I have the Bose 6-CD changer in my 2K2 SE and was wondering if anyone could tell me what the 'AUTOP' button does. The owners manual gives the impression that it is just another preset, but it's got to do more than that.

Thanks.....

I think it automatically sets presets for radio stations...

I just realized I was wondering the same thing when I got mine... I figured out what it did, but since I don't ever use that button, I've forgotten what it does! hehe... :D

I now have a new (48 hour old) 2K2 SE 6spd

I found that it lets you see more of the CD-TEXT when listening to discs that have it. What I'd really like to know is how do you make it autoscroll? It's a pain to only see 8 letters at a time:
Code:

PUSAKA -<AUTOP>
 I'M ADD<AUTOP>
ICTED (Y<AUTOP>
OU'RE TH<AUTOP>
E WORST <AUTOP>
THING FO<AUTOP>
R ME) (P<AUTOP>
USAKA RA<AUTOP>
DIO EDIT<AUTOP>
)

especially since there's room to display 10 and the manual says 10... but it can't be that hard to autoscroll the text.

Ah well, for all the features this car has, if that's all I'm complaining about, that's a good sign! :)

ok here another ? what does the DTE stand for when u scroll through the trip button thing? under the tachometer???

You mean that's not listed in the manual? It's distance to empty... how many miles are left on your tank of gas based on current mpg.

Is your Bose 6disc changer mounted in the trunk or in the dash?

Has anyone with the Navi unit and the 6 disc changer in the trunk gotten the CD text to work. I don't think that it does with this setup. And yes I do have RDS on because it works fine for the radio stations just not on CDs.

I just made my first CD Text enabled CD the other day, without realizing that it only displayed 8 Characters. Any way to make it scroll would kick ***.

How do you add text? Did you burn a CD? Does this system play CD-R's? I'm lazy.

The text option on the indash changer is a joke. They should have done a better job. All I want to know is what frickin disc is in what slot! Most people know what song is where. By the time you see the title, the song is playing...DUH! Sorry...I'll calm...

Yes it does support CD-R's. Then your CD Burner needs to support CD-Text (most newer burners will). I used EZ CD Creator 5 and you have to do disc-at-once in order to get the text. When you select disc-at-once you will see the check box for cd-text become ungreyed. Thats it. Now, find me a way to make it scroll damn it!!!
