halfshaft replacement

I pretty sure i have a bad half-shaft on the passenger side. it is not making any noise but it is very stiff from not having any grease and hard to turn at start up. I plan to get it replaced cause thats one of those things i cant do. How long do you guys think i can ride out like that?

Is the CV boot cracked, is that why you think it has no grease?
What is hard to turn at startup, the steering wheel?

The only thing that really "goes out" are the CV joints, and if they are shot you should hear clicking noises in slow-speed, tight turns.

what do you mean its hard to turn at startup? You mean first drive? Thats not going to be greaseless axles, theyll be hard the whole time. More likely is that you are seeing overnight rust bind on the rotors, not a big deal

Yes the steering wheel is hard to turn at startup and the cv boot is torn the Axel seems like it's been grease dry for a while

I have two 4th gens that have been driven for 2 years and about 20,000 miles each with torn CV boots. It's an expensive fix if you have someone do it, about $200 per side.

Well that's good to know but I won't let it go that long I just need to find a good shop that does good work but doesn't charge $93 an hr and open atleast 1 day in the weekend
