She's been gone for 4 days

Well 1238am monday my 03 came up missing she was parked in my back driveway and when i got home she was gone. She has a full viper alarm thats what woke up my neighbor who only seen a old red tow truck and about 8 young guys outside who all jumped in there cars and left when the tow truck yanked her out a** end first scraping my drivers side along the fence post and taking off the side view mirror.now that i think about it for the past week my proximity sensor would trigger a warn away almost every night a few times and i just thought it was an animal or something but the more i think i guess not.nothing is safe nowhere i guess.there was nothing on the outside that would draw attention except for the lower stance and 5% tint i think what they were after was my audio and there was about 8k worth of that in there.

VQP0WER Jan 13, 2011 09:38 AM

Sorry to hear this. The car is probably gutted by now. You have full insurance? What process is it to get paid for it?

Froggmann Jan 13, 2011 09:39 AM

Sorry to hear about that. Hope the thieves get what's coming to them.

MizzMaxine Jan 13, 2011 09:43 AM

Incredible how low some are.

Scottwax Jan 13, 2011 09:46 AM

That sucks. I've had a couple cars broken into but never had one stolen. That pissed me off enough, I'd go postal if someone took my entire car.

Hope they get caught and resist arrest so the cops can use their nightsticks on them.

cjandura Jan 13, 2011 09:48 AM

Full coverage but it only covers $1200 for the audio.it takes 72 hours according to allstate before they start the process.i went out and looked at 2 03 6mt's today one of them had a chatter in 5th w/78k on it and the other was fine but 128k and had been ghettoized on the inside painted trim and mix matched seats and some of the buttons didnt light up.both were under 6 grand.

cjandura Jan 13, 2011 09:52 AM

if i would of been home this time it wouldnt of happened.and if i ever find out who and i do have 2 suspects(walmart and tires plus) the only people that have seen the inside of my car in the past month besides family it going to be a bad situation.

J-Rod Jan 13, 2011 10:00 AM

Sorry for your bad misfortune, hopefully the police can help you locate the perps

Sorry to hear about your situation! I was going to say that it's (more than likely) someone who has either been in your car lately, or knows of what you have in your car.

YEARS ago (1991) when I had a nice (for back then) system in my car I was careful not to turn it up in some areas. Long story short the 15 year old paperboy, his brother and cousin ended up stealing my car ('91 turbo Shadow) and the cops caught them 5 days later on the freeway going 110+mph. Of course being that young nothing happened to him and he was back delivering papers 2 days later....

Hope your insurance doesn't give you too much crap for trying to collect, good luck!

ChrisMan287 Jan 13, 2011 10:15 AM

Load up the shotgun..

But seriously I hope you get the car back. Even if the audio is gone, at least you can put the money that you were gonna spend on a new car into replacing what's gone.

phatboislim Jan 13, 2011 10:25 AM

that sucks man...i know how it feels to have your car taken from you

cjandura Jan 13, 2011 11:29 AM

What else sucks is it took me a year to get the car repaired correctly from my accident last december(2010) the insurance company at that time was state farm finally broke down and replaced the transmission and right axle about 6 weeks ago after a long battle and too many trips to the dealer to find the problem.my symptoms were rubbing and grinding from the pass side which the grinding could be herd by people on the street whenever the trans shifted(automatic) it seems the impact which was a 15" curb jammed the axle and cracked something inside the trans.well long story short i got a freshly refurbished in the crate transmission and oe axle and it all was dealer installed and drove like it did 7 years ago.but anyway i just came back from home depot i got 6 sets of motion flood lights to put outside the garage.

phatboislim Jan 13, 2011 11:36 AM

dang dude that sounds like me when my integra was stolen i finally got it perfected, with no issues...and they stole it from me, 2 weeks before my wedding with my wifes wedding band in it and my friends wheels that i was borrowing...screwed up alot of ish

PhillyMAx Jan 13, 2011 11:41 AM

Color of your car?

First 3 letters of your plate?

I have offices in Malvern, Exton, and Philly. I can keep an eye out...

TallTom Jan 13, 2011 11:41 AM

Sorry to hear the bad news. What color is your car? I will keep an eye out for it. I live in Delco and work in Malvern.

cjandura Jan 13, 2011 12:14 PM

Color:QX1
Plate:GXL-00
5% tint,Color matched Xm antenna,Really Low,Megan Exhaust
Thanks for the lookout i doubt it drivable because of the alarm and there must be a huge full length crease down the drivers side from where they rubbed the fence post and took out the side view mirror

cjandura Jan 13, 2011 12:17 PM

I guess next time you hear a proximity alert warning you'll be ready for combat and go check it out! Sorry for the lost, I couldn't imagine that happening to me without some searching for a tow company with red truck to start with.....I already hate tow truck drivers.....and all I need is a reason to pop some caps and reload for more!!!!

nismomaxgtr18 Jan 14, 2011 09:34 PM

Sorry to hear bro. My car was taken from me in the summer so I know how you feel. I got mine back and I hope you get your Max back too.

Man every time the warn away went off i would check the car.it was out of habit.my wife used to yell cause i would jump out of bed at 3am.as far as the red tow truck my neighbors oldest son works for the largest tow in the county and he looking to see who has red trucks besides his company.ive now got 6 flood light out back and i ordered a dlink network security camera which will be. next.and just a little update another witness said some of the kids jumped in a little purple car with yellow marks on it that sounded like a lawn mower it was parked infront of her house.so im also looking for a purple ricemobile with yellow crap on it.ive taken to driving my other car now just incase i have to chase someone down and i do have a permit to carry.

My suggestion? Start watching online for your audio stuff to pop up for sale.

Most petty car thieves are morons and think that the owner will just give up the search. I know a few people who have gotten their rides back by watching online.

When my buddy had is RSX lifted, he managed to trace it back because the kid that ripped it off tried to sell the rims on Craigslist. Needless to say, my buddy, and four patrol cars, met the kid in a Walgreen's parking lot to negotiate a price.

I actually do have all of the serial numbers as well as the orignal boxes.the police told me to watch ebay but i never thought about craigslist thanks for the suggestion.ive called alpine about my equipment sence its F1 equipment if it needed service it would be tagged as stolen and reported to the police.as far as being petty thiefs it seems kind of odd that there were so many people there the one neighbor counted 8 and the older lady said about 12 to 15 im starting to worry about a home invasion type situation where they break into my garage i know if they been watching my max i kn ow they seen the other car and thats what im worried about

Doesn't sound like it was petty thieves or kids that took it; they had a tow truck at their disposal. Wreckers aren't cheap, I'm guessing a professional ring got his car...

But even then, it would be strange for pros to use a red wrecker, as it stands out so much and would be easy to trace.

Oh, and wouldn't the alarm be going off as it was being towed down the road at 3am? Seems like a cop magnet if that is the case.

OP, you weren't making payment on the Max, were you?

For all we know, some kid working at a shop may have borrowed his manager's rig to lift the car. There are too many possibilities...I just don't see a Maxima being a very high-profile car for a professional thief to want to steal. Especially a 7-8 year old Maxima.

cjandura Jan 15, 2011 10:51 AM

Then again a pro wouldnt have rubbed the car on the fencepost and tore off the mirror

Keep an eye on your neighbor, they know what you got in there. So look into that if there was no possibility of a visit from the Repo-Man.

Shift_A32B Jan 15, 2011 11:26 AM

Sorry to hear that, but don't lose hope though, your max may appear soon. The only reason I say that is because my Grandpa's truck got stolen once and reappeared a month later, the only thing that was missing was the battery and the driver's seat. I know Your max doesn't compare to my grandpa's truck but miracles do happen, so hang in there.

trooplewis Jan 15, 2011 11:29 AM

One more reason to save money on alarms and such and spend it on better insurance!

LOL, maybe your neighbors were getting annoyed at the proximity alarm going off at 3am and decided it was just easier to dump the max in a pond somewhere...
