Ground underneath body

Hey guys,

I can see a ground wire ( mesh type ) or atleast it looks liek a ground wire, its under the car about where the drivers seat is, its just hanging and looks like one end has been shreaded off. I really haven't had enough time to crawl under and see what is going on, if it is a ground wire can I get a generic one or do I need to order it?

That's a ground/bonding wire.......no one can agree to it's use.......lots of people just ignore it/leave it off and there doesn't seem to be any negative issues. It could be to ensure a good ground for the O2 sensor on the cat, or possibly to bleed off any static electrical charge because of gasflow through the exhaust. It is attached between the floor pan and a stud/bolt on the cat. I don't believe it was seen on any other Maxi other than the Fed. spec. '00 cars.

It's on the 5.5 as well. I took mine off when I put my catback on...haven't seen any negative side-effects that I can tell.

X2, I saw where it bolted on and where the wire was broken, so i just cut it off... No effects as of yet (been over a year)
