How to replace Transmission Control Solenoids 5th Gen

2000 Maxima SE, 4 Spd Auto, RE4 Trans.

I recently got a P0740 code (TCC error, Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid suggesting no Torque Converter lock-up).

I did the resistance check and found 2 ohms (specs say 5 - 20 ohms) so I ordered a new solenoid pack.

I have the trans. pan off but not sure how to install the solenoids. Do I need to remove the valve body to do that?

I appreciate any tips, procedures, links etc.

also: How to shift to Neutral with battery disconnected?

Get a TRANSGO kit!

Don't go HD, it 's a bit much for daily driving imo.

Where to buy TCC Solenoid

Looking for just the TCC Solenoid, not the whole pack. I saw this item for sale somewhere, can't find it now.

Anyone know where these can be purchased?

thx

Dear god...the OP doesn't need a transformation kit.

Yes you need to remove the valve body to replace the solenoids.

Procedure linked below. PM me if you have problems opening link.

Thanks FoodMan! Just saw your reply today. I went ahead and replaced the whole solenoid pack. About $150 if I remember right. Shifts perfect now.
