2003 Meridian blue 6 speed with 90k miles on it for $5500. If this car is legit, this is a great price. Most of the cars with cloth and automatics are going for more than $6000 with 110-140k miles.

Paid less for mine but I have 60k more miles. Still got a good deal, but not like the '03 currently on craigslist.

Thats a damn good find! I figure the ones that actually post a phone number rather than just an email addy are legit.

Bought mine off the list too. 2001 gle loaded with only 48,000 one lady owner miles....gave 8 grand for it. Love this car.

Interior looks a little nasty on the carpet or mats.....This would be great to have and swap over most of my mods from my A/T and reinstall the 2.5" Cattman w/Oem muffler to make my wife happier & install the Cattman headers, 3" exhaust, pulley, intake, Progress/Illuminas....etc on this 6 spd and call it the day!

hahaha, $5k a good deal? It probably burns 1qt/1k.

Buying a 6-speed for $1,500 that you KNOW burns oil is the only good deal on a 5.5 gen w/higher mileage. There out there, my neighbor & nismomaxct both payed that for there 6-speed 5.5 gens, my neighbor got the better deal though, black/black & flawless except for the oil burning. I offered him the same once the motor finally gives out ;)

Not even close. Added just under a half quart in the 2000 miles I've put on it so far. Way less than my 4AT 5.5 gen used, plus this one has lower miles, good struts (mine were shot), the valve covers aren't leaking all over the exhaust manifolds, etc. I actually got $5200 ($5600 including tax, title and license) for my totaled 4AT with 194,595 miles on it if that gives you any idea what even very high mileage cars are worth here. So yes, getting a car with lower miles, leather instead of cloth, climate control instead of the basic HVAC system, Bose instead of the base stereo, good struts, good tires, etc for less than I got for my other one, that is a good deal.

Very hard around here to find even high mileage cars under $6000 and I've seen several advertised for $7k-9k.

I paid just over 10k for my 6mt TE/meridian with <100k miles 3 years ago and it was a great price at the time... Now people (krrz) are arguing that 5k isn't a good deal. SMH :rotz:

he said camshaft position sensor was bad, clutch would need to be replaced, power seemed to be lost (he said it felt slower than a 4th gen), the carpet in the rear had the floorboard showing and i forgot the rest.. but the outside looked good lol

Could be cheap fixes in the long run for normal maintenance items. Just ask around the forum how many 6mts have had to replace a clutch (a wear item that must be replaced) or camshaft position sensors. Now the lost power is more concerning, but could be from the camshaft position sensor.

camshaft position sensor is really easy to replace but just small things that were wrong with the car wasn't worth the 5500 IMO.. it'd be reasonable if someone could do all the work themselves and save money but i've never replaced a clutch

yea the camshaft position sensor will rob your power or his cats can be pre cats clogged

The dealer I bought the car from replaced both camshaft position sensors before I even looked at the car due to a hard start condition. Carpet is really good in mine, other than a tear in the armrest and passenger front seat (along a seam), the interior is in great condition. Paint is fair but the color hides that. Most importantly, the clutch feels solid and the car definitely has some serious balls. Feels a lot stronger than my other 5.5 did. I know the 6 speed helps a lot but still wasn't expecting the difference to be so noticeable.

The clutch replacement (for me) was roughly as difficult as headers, maybe a little moreso because it requires a larger selection of tools, but the amount of time it took was similar. You can probably spend <300 bucks on the whole deal if you have or can borrow proper tools.

I'm not trying to say this car is a great deal, but I am trying to say that clutch is a normal maintenance item. I'd rather get a car for less cash that needs a clutch, replace it myself knowing that it's a fresh part and the work was done properly than go spend more on a car that "has a new clutch" according to who sold it to me.

This car could still be a good deal to those who can do their own work, it may be <$500 in fixes for it to be in solid condition and still a nice deal for a relatively low miles, well equipped 6 speed car.

That's what I was thinking when I got mine. Since I was already $200 ahead based on the payoff for my other car and it was going to need struts, valve covers and plugs and still have almost 200k miles on it, even if I have to spend $1000 on mine (front end rattle, hopefully just the anti-roll bar end links and D bushings), I was still going to have to spend $1000 on my other one. Instead, I have a quicker car with the leather interior and all the other goodies, lower miles, much lower oil consumption, etc.

With this other 6 speed on craigslist, the owner could probably be talked down off the asking price enough to cover much of what it needs, then once the car is fixed up, you'd still be under what higher mileage 4AT cars with cloth interiors are going for.

For that kind of mileage and one previous owner that's actually not that bad.

Seems fair, my 03 6mt titanium with 95000miles cost me $7500 over two and a half years ago. Had to do plugs and 04 valve covers as usual though.

Good thing I didn't hold off on buying mine then. Yeah, the mileage is higher and I would have preferred Meridian Blue over Sterling Mist, but mine has a good clutch, interior cleaned up nicely, brakes and tires are good, a/c and stereo work great, etc. And it was $500 less. :laugh:

Yeah, I didn't think right. I forgot I got about $7.5k for my '01 GXE in November when it got totaled out, so $8k is about right then.
