Driver's side wiper arm

Very last of the problems that came with the car is the driver's side wiper. It moves up about 3 inches and then "sticks" and then comes back down. Searches here leaned towards the 3 bolts that hold the linkage in place. So I got everything stripped down but those 3 bolts are fine. Upon looking around I then noticed that the teeth on the inside of the wiper arm are worn flat. I put the passenger side arm on the driver side bolt and the teeth hold good. I put the driver side arm back on and there is almost 0 grip to the point where i can manually move the arm.

So my question is, where do I get a replacement wiper arm? I looked on rockauto and AZ, nothing but the linkage and motor there. If I have to I can pull one from the junk yard but would prefer a fresh one.

In the even I have to go to junk yard does anyone know if the 4th, 5, and 5.5 arms are all the same?

I feel like somebody just slapped me across the head. For the last few years, my driver-side wiper arm has been getting all bubbly with corrosion. I hate looking at it. Took this thread for me to realize a replacement arm is only $25, and an easy DIY.

Thanks for this thread, you guys.

No problem. I've seen this come up in a few family vehicles in the past. The cheap splines in the wiper arms or on the motor are plastic.

I have the same problem with a Craftsman garage door too. They have the gear splines made out of plastic which just get shredded every two years.

Yeah honestly for $26 I'm kind of glad that's the part that is broken. Beats having to deal with the motor or linkage.
