well, it might as well be a new car...
just added eibach pro kit, tociko illuminas, ebay fstb, and 6 gen front brake conversion, brembo blanks, autozone premium pads for the time being...
Holy ****, my car feels unbelievable!!! so much fun to drive now, on ramps never felt like rails before
setting on 2 for now, cant wait to play around with those settings...
and a big for the 6 gen brake conversion, anyone debating whether or not to do this, DO IT!
a big THANK YOU to the Org for all the info and help deciding and doing the work, I was able to do all of this at home...
time for some power mods... any suggestions?

You may want to add a rear sway bar to your handling mods... It's worth it...

funny how just a few mods can make your car feel totally different from one day to the next. for power mods, IMO, headers, 3" exhaust, BOP, and a tune will be a good start

i have heard mixed reviews about custom maxima. not very many good ones. besides, they don't have the long tube headers that make for better power(IIRC)

Get the ebay OBX v2 if any think they are like 350 or so those other ones for like 180 or so, is a disgrace in my opinion to say you have headers on your ride when it looks like stock manifolds polished with no precats...but to each their own....

I agree Stock manifolds with no presets seems lke the way to go if your on a budget , if you have a 02-03 you can buy stock 00-01 manifolds since they dont have precats to begin with. And then bolt on a y-pipe and your all set.

I got my OBX v2's for 380 shipped from ebay, it was the cheapest price I can find the V1 are 350

Now u know thats BS if you took a look at the gutted pre cat thread on gutted pre catts 036mtmax put down hp247.6@6126 tq248.5@3964
his mods cattman 3'' nwp bop, stillen short ram and that on gutted pre cats

Have you seen the obstruction in the stock manifolds design i have, The unequal length headers/custommaxima/ feabay headers they should make just about as much power as obx's and catt-mans.

They don't sound that bad ethier video custom maxima headers/ 3 1/2 cat-back no reasonater

video 2

yeah, I have seen the shorty headers make some good power on 02/03 maximas of other members here on the org. For you 3.5 guys, the sheer fact that you are getting rid of the pre-cats, and the weird bends that the stock y-pipe has will net some power.

I just replaced my rotors and pads yesterday. Didn't do the 6th gen upgrade(dad won't let me) but man it's nice to be able to stop without the terrible vibration of the warped rotors.

Is it normal for the brakes to not be as firm on the pedal as they were before? Now they feel like our truck and i hate that. Will the firm braking come back once the brakes are broken in?

i recently had my rotors resurfaced and pads changed to new ceramics (although i could have probably stayed with the nissan ones that still had decent life on them) and the car felt great stopping, besides the whole "stepping on a wet sponge" that our cars feel like.

I want to know, is it necessary to buy brand name on something like a strut bar. After all it is just a metal bar. Those $30 ones on ebay look like they might snap at the hinges and/or hit the intake manifold or the hood but i want to know if anyone had suggestions...or warnings. id rather not regret what is technically my first "performance upgrade"

Not really. Besides, in today's market it's either eBay crap or Stillen... it's not like you have a lot of choices anymore.

Get the ebay strut bar and call it a day.

Good to hear. I normally dont like to skimp on car stuff but for something like a metal bar being just 15% of the cost of another metal bar that might be slightly stiffer its almost a no brainer (almost).
I was just surprised when i first learned there wasn't one there in the first place.

Flush your brake fluid and get some SS lines.

OP I can't believe you didn't post before and after pics!

The coils should be fine until the day you start having misfire problems. Until then, make sure your spark plugs are in a good shape. You may want to replace the plugs when you install the NWP Engineering Thermal Intake Spacers and VIAS Block Plate Kit.

Let me know if you have any questions about any of our products. We also have the Engine Torque Link Bracing Kit that people love so much.

thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely be doing the spacers soon, since I'll be opening everything up, I'll probably change all of the coils and plugs just to have peace of mind and I will be contacting you for the spacers, love your work and your track record here on the org of course all of this when that folded piece of leather in my back pocket has enough green to allow me

I love my BOP mod.....I was surprised when it kept pulling and pulling the higher the RPMS went. Gas mpg have suffered because I love taking off in it since the BOP. I really didnt notice any low end loses. Can't wait to extend rev limiter...then it will be even greater!! Just recently added custom SRI too...thats nice...more of a sound thing...love that sound of the intake.

How much can you extend the rev limiter safely? Without doing any damage to the stock internals??

The only power mods in your sig are a BOB and a SRI. The engine is basically stock (heck, so is mine, inbeforemoncefmocksme), and for some reason you want to rev over redline? I don't think so.

NO NO NO........I meant after headers, catback exhaust, cams, springs/retainers, rod bolts and a new IM......with a good tune with a Haltech. Would be dumb to extend rev limiter now...pointless.....sorry for the confusion.

No, my bad, ranmas.

I was thinking you were in the Moar Powah for Pennies crew. And I stand corrected.
