NWP DE-K Intake Manifold Spacers installed!
After months of deliberation, I finally decided to purchase the NWP IM spacer kit for my DEK motor. I had to take the IM off to clean out my EGR tube and replace my KS, so I figured now would be the perfect time to do the spacers as well.
Aaron at NWP was very helpful as usual, and my parts arrived quickly. I was nervous about using a dremel but it turned out to be pretty easy. Once that was taken care of we put everything back together with the black Permatex, but had massive vacuum leaks around the spacer, so we took it all apart and used the grey GM engine block sealer, and that worked like a charm. We probably just didn't put on enough the first time, as we were very generous the second time.
Now that the car is up and running it seems to pull a little stronger all around then before. Granted, it's 30* outside, so the benefits of the spacers won't really show up until it gets hot out, but even now I can say I feel a difference. It's small, but it's there. My guess would be somewhere around 5 whp. If I was doing it all over again I would still buy these because it's nice insurance against heat soak when I race and the slightly longer intake runners should give me some low end even if the temperature reduction isn't as much as cars with the metal manifolds.
Two thumbs up for Aaron and NWP!

Did you get the 5pc or 3pc? I can't wait until the spring comes and it's warm enough to install my 5pc spacer, performance spark plugs and PCV valve. I really hope I see a difference in power becuase it wasn't cheap to have it shipped to Canada then had to pay and extra $40 brokerage.

I can try and take a picture this weekend when I'm installing some old Cattman headers
