Hello everyone...
I looked all over the forum/internet to find if someone has upgraded the alternator on their 5th gen maxima with one from a 09-11 Murano... I know a few folks here have done the 03-07 Murano alternator which is 110amp which is the same that already comes on the car... However the 90-11 Murano has the 130amp. I know its not that much more power but still just a hair better than the 110amp. I found a seller online that is selling an 09 Murano alternator and he was kind enough to send me pictures of the unit...
Now here is my question: For those of you who have already taken the alternator out of the car to replace it can you verify if the plug is the same? And does the overall body of the alternator looks the same?
I have checked the parts numbers on the Courtesy website and it look like those are the same...

So lets see if the 09-11 Murano alternator could be installed on the 5th gen 3.0 engine...

And I thought it was pics/write-up with the alternator installed already.

Anyways, let us know how it goes.

well mine was replaced at some point with an aftermarket rebuilt unit... the alternator still charges but the bearings are starting to go out on it... the cheapest I could find them for was about $60-$65... the idea behind this is to replace the alternator with a "used" newer unit for about $90-$100. The one seller claims that the on the picture is out of a 09 Murano with 28,000 miles on it...

well I have the alternator sitting in the same box as it was shipped in.... lol I just haven't had time to replace it... 99% sure it will fit but again, the alternator is sitting in the box that it was shipped in, most likely in the next week or so I will be replacing the alternator will full blown pics and probably I will make a DIY write up...

Looking forward to it.

Why wouldn't it fit? I have vq35 alternator on my 5th gen. No issues after a year of use.

You could always just go to a parts store and physically compare them- assuming they have them in stock.. and this is is you dont want to just use google images and the internet to compare

I just looked at the other thread with the 03-07 Murano alty and the plug looks different than this 09-11 Murano alty. The 03-07 looks to only have two pins and this one clearly has three.

Dont worry the plug still fits and works great, the murano has the extra pin and the maxima plug is a 3 pin plug but only uses 2 pins, i got the 06 murano alty no issues. Look for my thread
