Yeah, the AE headlights have a bronze/gold tint to them. Yours didn't seem to have that look in the pics.

These look like AE lights:

Well I did find out that the lights are OEM. They may or may not be the 20th AE ones but that's alright I guess. I am wanting to upgrade them to Halos in the future anyways. Quick question, when you order a different pair of lights, is it as simple as install and plug and play?

The ones with halos have poor light output.

^^ Far as I know, all 5th gen headlights were made by ICHIKOH not KOITO. That and also, the word "Nissan" shouldn't appear anywhere on the lights. It should only say ICHIKOH on the back of the housing.

You're right, I was mistaken...although the nissan is appeared on the bottom corner close to the bumper, on the 5th gen at least...

^^ Correct. Glad we finally got it right. It is Ichikoh and indeed the word Nissan appears in the lens corner (just never noticed it)

Looks like you got a pair of OEM headlights dude, a very nice thing indeed.

Center console lid swap

My black leather center console lid was worn, got a oem replacement and swap it out, the new one had a mounting bracket with two holes so I think it came from a newer model 5th gen, mines has three holes for mounting so I use my old bracket.

Ahh. Also last night I played around with an i30 shifter trim in my maxima. it could be done with more modification than its worth so I put everything together to find my window shade and radio no longer worked! After hours of troubleshooting.. I found out that all I simply had to do was press the on button-_-. After more trouble shooting for the window shade
. I found that when I was checking fuses for the radio I pulled the cigarette lighter one out and put it in a blank spot by accident which made my window shade quit (its wired to the cig lighter). I blame the recent week working my butt off in Cincinnati making me too tired to try the simple things first lol!

Got an alignment... sorta.
The front right inner tie rod wouldn't turn so they didn't charge me, which was cool.
After I replace the part I'll get new tires and a re-alignment
The tires wear really fast btw with just that amount of toe!

I don't get why the caster is out though. Would toe adjustment effect that?
What's do you guys think?

Changed out the old CMP sensor. Got a new OEM Mitsubishi part from the dealer. This is what the old one looked like when I pulled it out:

So far, my long cranking problem in high heat is gone. Hopefully for good.

You mean CPM (Crankshaft Position Monitoring), right?
I am asking because I have a bit of the same problem ....

No, it's exactly what it says. CMP = Camshaft Position Sensor

And after driving it a bunch of times since last night, and a nice drive this morning. I can say the sensor seems to have made a huge difference for my car, my baby has started like new every time and looking at my logs from this morning my timing seems better (holds constant without any retardation, whole time)

Really happy I did it so far. That old one has clearly seen better days, and clearly seen tons of high heat just look at that center contact.

Every now and then I couldn't start my car after iv driven it for a wile..
I was told that part may be going bad, I also changed my cam & crank sensors..
My Max has a lot of miles so I assume it's just wear & tear.
I'm also getting this odd sound from the motor that I can only hear in the cot pit, when I open the hood
to see if I can hear it I can not, I thought it was the belt pulleys so I had those changed to and still
I can hear it, the sound is hard to describe, but it sounds like a bad bearing not sure but its driving me nuts.

BTW, a new camshaft sensor seriously took care of my long cranking/starting problem for good, fires up like new now every single time. Did yours have that same burn mark on it when you pulled it out? Look at the pic of my old cam sensor ^ up there, did yours look anything like that?

I didn't have any starting issues till my car was running for a wile, but it didn't do it all the time, I just had them all changed because I didn't want to risk it..

^ Wow, early morning I guess. Could've sworn they were these:

Guess not lol

How much do yours weight? The Motegi's are 16 lbs, and clearly this ^ wheel has copied the Motegi design 100%

Finally did the rear break pads.
The old ones looked oem about 1/4 inch of pad left ,disc hardware still good so i cleaned em' up and only used the front shim from the crappy aftermarket set i bought.

Cleaned all the sleeves and bolts from the dried up greases.

Replaced with the zone's dg540

Did a pan drop and tranny flush.
If you want amsoil stuff talkinghorse will get you a good price. http://forums.maxima.org/group-deals...ubricants.html

Anyway. Used a sweet inline filter after the cooler. Should be good for some years.

^^ I always thought it was a bad idea to use anything but official Nissan Matic-D fluid. I know the Amsoil is good, but?

Also, isn't it a bad idea to do a tranny flush? Especially after a certain mileage. Again, just info that I've gathered over time, so I did a drain & fill with Nissan fluids (4.5qts came out), gonna do a second one coming up next oil change and should be good for a while.

Oh BTW ^^ George_that's not impressive. Try 180MPH (not kilometers) on a highway and then I will be impressed.

There's nothing wrong with the IACV itself. It's the stupid design with the water. Bypass the water lines and you're fine. It's still a time bomb b/c it's whenever the o ring fails.

Amsoil is for matic-D. It's on the back of the bottle.
5qt came out of the pan and I had to flush 2qt to get new oil out the
cooler. I did 1 more qt just to be safe.
