I know... another intake thread.

Did some searching and I found nothing. What I want to know is this: has anyone successfully modified a 6th gen cai for a 5.5? And I'm talking about the Maf block. I can't judge by the pictures to tell if the block is big enough for ours to fit. I know I'll have to drill and tap new holes, but is the block large enough to do this? I know I could just use the Maf tube and cut the piping, but i want a single piece unit. Looking at the DC Sports intake after a battery relocate.

Please leave the sri vs true cai battle out of this thread, just a simple question I'm asking.

Is the 6th gen MAF a different ID than the 5.5gen? What I've seen with intake (including CAI) is that you run a MAF adaptor and that typically the systems come with one. As far as getting a setup to work, there are different systems for the 6th, any one specifically looking at?

There are threads/posts about getting certain CAI systems plumbed a certain way (such as fender) on the 5.5.

If you clarify what you're trying to do/where run the piping, you'll probably get a more specific answer

I tried to be clear, but i failed I guess. Looking at the DC Sports cai. Solid piece aluminum. If I get this I'll need to do two things. A battery relocate which is no biggie, but I'll have to modify the block to fit my Maf. Bolt patterns are different. I was wondering if anyone tried a similar 6th gen intake because I'm going to be screwed if that block is to small for our mafs. Here's some pictures too: http://my6thgen.org/254035-post14.html

Edit: three things... Need to cut out that hole to the fender, but pointless for my question.
