don't have a problem with cops but!!

i don't have a problem with cops but, some of the damn freaking idiots that work at the court place just wanted me to scream.
i got pulled over speeding, wasn't even speeding that much. 57 in a 40 zone. The cop gives me a $110.00 ticket, even though there were no prior tickets on my record ,,,ever.. so i am like ok no biggie, it had to happen one day. then he comes back and says that the plates i have on are for a diff nissan. i was like darn,,i forgot to transfer the plates,,,so heer came the second $110 ticket. now that ticked me off a little bit. he could have given me a warning, or lowered the fine. but the donut craving idiot, gave me the ticket.

so i go and pay for them today. this long curly haired, miracle bra wearing, big nosed, skinny *** moron is giving me attitutude like i owe her something. MAYYY I HALP not help but HALP you. So i give her the tickets and say, since this is my first speeding ticket, i am eligible for the safe driver option right?(where no points would go on my record) And she looks up and says WHY U SAY DAT? So i said, you know my first ticket and all,,,and she's like NAAA AAAAN. You got 2 tickets, so you don't qualify. I am like MAM, the other ticket was for failure to transfer plates and was given after the speeding ticket. So if u wanna get tecnical, when i received the speeding ticket, i didn't have any other tickets,so it was my first hence i should be allowed to take the safe driver option. So the pinocchio looking, hair not washed in a year, fake nails looking like **** bazitch just looks away and hands me the tickets and says GO TO THE WINDOW AND PAY,,BYE

So what do i do now??/ Indiana BMV's # is always busy and when u get through , it cuts u off

That was such a great descriptive write up. I think now all you gots to do is pay the fines. Sorry dude, but me thinks your S.O.L.

:bawling: i will defend my self i will call channel 6 for help RAY DELESIO will cover my story.........eek i see fat cops

Jeff92se Jan 17, 2002 01:18 PM

Let's see, you WERE speeding and WERE guilty of having the wrong plates. What exactly did the officer do that was wrong? Plus asking the clerk is not the correct procedure for fighting the ticket?

Good luck fighting it. You know about court dates, suponeas, discoveries and such correct? If you don't your toast. You should get a reduction in the fines or maybe luck out and get traffic school becuase only one of the tickets is a moving violation.

uhh did u read the thread i SAID I DONT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE COPS. yes i was guilty, so no i wasnt mad about gettin the speeding ticket. yes i was kinda upset about the plates one, cause they weren't expired. yes i truely did forget to transfer them. the cop could have said " i am giving you 2 days to transfer the plates" we all know cops can do that. thats the thing, at least 6 of my feemale friends have gotton off without even warnings, much less tickets, cause they put on this crying ot flirting show. so it's upto the cop.
my main problem was the ppl that worked at the court. i guess i am just tired "just like o'riley on FOX news" of these ppl that have attitude like they are doing the citizend a huge favor by working there. thats my problem. i worked in the human services field all through college, and saw a lot of ppl that get so comfortable in their position that they start feeling like they are at home, and not at work.

and the icing on the cake is that the NICE LADY told me that both of those were considered moving violation, and she would have been the one who would have put in the system that i do qualify for safe driver.......there you have it

Jeff92se Jan 17, 2002 01:41 PM

Well it truely sounds like your complaining about getting a ticket. ie.. "I wasn't speeding THAT much". Sorry if I misunderstood that one.

Well, set a cout date, do the best you can and let us know the outcome. I think the officer didn't cut you a break because you were speeding but that's my opinion.

djmaxski Jan 17, 2002 01:43 PM

If flirting can get you out of the ticket(s), then why not flirt with the occifer next time????

Just kidding...

kpark Jan 17, 2002 01:45 PM

Sorry, don't know what you can do. I personally don't like cops, most I've run across have attitudes and are very very mean. They abuse their authority. I've never gotten a break. All I can say is good luck. Wish I knew someone that was a traffic lawyer.

You should have fought it instead of paying. Usually a little brown nosing to the judge works.

Rich5Spd2K Jan 17, 2002 04:12 PM

Speaking from the other side of the badge, attitude and honesty go a long way. Most officer's threshold speed is around 10-12 over. Realistically, anything less than that is often not worth writing a ticket for (Unless it was used as PC to stop and look at your car). When I was running radar/laser, anything over 15 was juicy. This was on a highway with a speed limit of 55. If I asked people how fast they were going and they told me the truth, I would usually give them a warning. If the attitude came out then they were definitely getting a ticket for speeding and whatever other obvious violation. I will agree that there are those officers out there who are Johnny Law but you also must realize that a lot of officers also deal with attitude from everyone almost all the time.

I would recommend going to court. As long as you didn't give the officer a hard time and as you said have no record, the judge will most likely reduce the fines. The best policy is always be polite even if the officer isn't. If your windows are tinted, roll them down and turn on the interior light. Keep your hands on the steering wheel and be honest. Officers are shocked to hear honest people and you will be surprised by their response.

thats the whole thing though. i pulled over,,,he said you were going a little fast,,i said yes, he said y, i said late for work, he said u should have left home earlier, i said yes,,,thats it,, comes back, this plate is not for this car, i say,,i just realized that i forgot to transfer the plates, but the plates aren't expired, but he still gave me 2 tickets, i still said thankyou ,,ok bye...
i cant take it to court any more, cause i already paid....but i will talk to the bmv department on tuesday,,,,i am sure i will still get the points on my record, but it's worth trying

ZIPPIN Jan 17, 2002 07:27 PM

i am calm now,,,i will call them tomorrow or go there tuesday!!!

What does bmv stand for. I live in Cali, and we call it DMV over here (Department of Motor Vehicles). That is who you are referring to when you say bmv right? Not saying ur using the wrong letters, just curious what they call it in other places, or if I'm totally thinking of the wrong thing when I see bmv.

You definitely shouldn't have just paid the ticket. When I was in court, for a ghey a$$ jaywalking ticket when I was crossing the street at a corner, the judge lowered pretty much everyone's fine. Except for the guy that was urinating in public, but that's kinda off topic here. The judge was giving people the option to go to driving school so that they wouldn't get a mark.

In Cali it is illegal to tint your front windows.... Would you be very inclined to pull someone over for having the lightest tint on them (still illegal, but not too much :D ).

Yeah I agree with how coutesy goes a long way, it definatly paid off in the past for me. I was doing this drop off thing for a political campaign which involved me going to peoples houses and dropping off papers. The directions were really bad, and I drove by a cop not speeding or anything. After passing the turn I wanted to take, I wanted to turn around(I was on a road I have never been on before so I was kinda lost). So I looked first then , moved quickly across two lanes to turn around at a U turn. So I go to turn around and what do I see :Police: So he comes up to the window. He asks me what I did wrong, I said how i crossed two lanes quickly and then explained that I was really lost and just trying to get off the road, which is a bad road in the area. Then he tells me that 2 people had to break extremly quickly i was like you gotta be joking me but i played it cool and stayed very polite with him examples Sir and Thank you. He let me go saying that he was doing me a favor and gave me a ticket for a air freshener haning from my mirror. (44 bucks). I was greatful i didn't get the moving violation because i'm still 17 but was ****ed he wasted his time on me. All he saw was a young kid in a real nice car with a girl in teh passenger seat which means keep a eye out on this guy. My moral stay polite, it won't kill you for the 5 minutes you have to talk to him, it might actually pay off

Sorry for the length:D

Reminds me of the time I did an illegal U-turn and the beer in my lap slipped, fell to the floor, and was spilling all over my gun under the seat. I pulled over and was cleaning everything off and when I looked up there was this cop looking down on me...

I don't talk about this story much, very upsetting.

No joke I've 20 now & have had 25 tickets to this date (plus I gotta go to court 02/19/02).....& my a$$ is still driving. Only had a suspension once b/c I got 2 tickets in wisconsin & my lawyer couldnt go up there & practice law (I live in IL). If you cant afford a lawyer (for your tickets it should only be around $80-$150 if you look around) go to court anyways & plead guilty w/ court supervision which means wont go on your record but if you get another ticket then you better get a lawyer so he can plead supervision for you, or else the judge most likely will fine you guily w/o supervision w/o a lawyer.

P.S.-- the day you have court wait outside the court room & when you see a lawyer bargain w/ him that you will give him $50 if he represents you....usually they say yes b/c they are right there anyways...do only thing is you'll have to pay court fines!

--Also one more thing....if you ever get pulled over for speeding never admit to it when he comes up to the car. Always ask him why he is pulling you over. Then if he says speeding-- request to see the radar gun-- you have %50 chance that he already cleared it, which in that case he cant give you a ticket. If he says no, tell him its your RIGHT. TRUST ME I'VE ME TO COURT MANY TIMES & COPS KNOW ME

--By the way I had a Trans Am before my Max & I was just way too crazy.

your right... you're wrong

The cop *CAN* refuse to allow you to see the radar. All he has to say is it's too hazardous to allow you out of the car. As a police officer (an officer of the court, actually) he will be believed by the judge/magistrate/whoever.

Are you serious? I better take down the compact disk that's hanging from my rear view mirror  .

(Note: I'm not sure of other states but some ricers, and beat up cars in DFW hang CD's from their mirror telling everyone that they have CD players in their cars.)
