New Thule Product: Aeroblade
 

After a quick search it looks like I am the first to post on the forum about this.

As a Christmas gift to myself, I ordered the newest Thule product which is the Traverse Aeroblade complete kit.

It came with the fit kit, the rapid traverse Footing or Footpack, and the 2 47" aeroblade load bars. I haven't seen any maximas on the forums rocking these new Aeroblade load bars. They are much more expensive than the thule ones everyone else has, but they look IMO so much more classy than the standard ones. These are the load bars that are typically seen on bimmers and audis. This kit doesn't have a fairing with it, but it isn't needed because I have the factory sunroof wind deflector and that's enough to prevent wind noise or whistling. The rack comes with built in locks so no one can steal your rack. Pretty neat.

This is the first "mod" to my car, as I just recently purchased my 2002 with 110,000 miles and a 6speed manual for 3500$ which isn't too shabby.

I also bought the sidearm bike mount, but I didn't like it and am exchanging for the Echelon fork mounted bike tray, which is the classy silver machined looking one to match my classy load bars.

Pretty happy with the load bars, and I will update on the bike tray. Bars are limited to 160lbs of weight which is pretty high compared to the standard black plastic load bars which is 100lbs or something near there.


I think it will look good with the Ruby Red tail lights I just ordered and the new lows that I see in my near future.

Are they pretty hard to take off?
I would just take them off when I'm not going biking.

They are easy to take off but not so easy to put back on, the front footing needs to be 9" from the windshield and the back needs to be 25 and 5/8" from the rear windshield.


I personally dig the look of roof racks, and will look better with the bike trays and lowered.

How often do you plan to use it to transport stuff? Once you get the bike mount trays, how often do you plan to use it to transport bikes?

While I have no reason to buy a roof rack, you got a pretty killer deal on that Max. Nice and clean :)

Whenever I ride, which is currently not much due to not having my bike at college. But im bringing it back with me next semester so ill be riding a couple times a week hopefully! Working as a detailer at the Nissan dealership so thatll take away from riding time
