Trip Computer Doesn't Come On

So I replaced my battery and now my trip computer doesn't come on. The manual says if the battery is disconnected to press and hold the trip computer mode button for more than 1 second to activate it. I dont know if this is the procedure to turn it back on but either way it doesn't do anything. Any suggestions?

Try unplugging the connections on the back of the instrument cluster 2 - 3 times and see if this helps. This is a cleaning action for the connectors.
