Should I get headers/catback on my 01 max with 155k? If so, what's the best options?
 

I'm thinking about upgrading my exhaust. I've had my max for a little over a year and it runs strong. It's losing some power right now due to my pre cats. I have codes P0420 and P0430. So I'm pretty sure both my pre cats are on their way out. I know if they start disintegrating they will kill my engine. And I definitely don't want that. My max right now is a little over 155k. Is it a good idea to get some headers and a cat back?

The setup I have in mind is Obx headers, Megan test pipe, Megan cat back.

Out of all the exhaust clips I've heard. Megan sounds nice.

Megan test pipe is the wrong size. Just FYI.
Other than that, if you have no emissions testing where you live, have at it.

Many people just gut the cats though.

I was thinking about gutting them too. It's cheap too. But what I was wondering is since I have a 01 the second pre cat is in the y pipe. How can I gut that one? Another option I was thinking is the Megan cat back. aftermarket y pipe and gut the front pre cat.

Any write ups or suggestions on gutting my pre cats? What o2 sims should I get? What test pipe should I get? What y pipe should I get? Money isn't an issue. I just want good parts.

On my 02 maxima I had a warpspeed y pipe and hi flow magnaflow cat. The y-pipe where it connects to the cat converter was a couple inches off. My cat back was twisted due to this and would make noise when accelerating hard.

I got Megan cat back and Isis test pipe ... But get the 240sx isis test pipe it fits perfectly, Megan test pipe doesn't fit... But doesn't sound as loud as a cattman 3" tho

I don't want a loud exhaust. I just want some sound. That's why I'm going with Megan. Do you have headers or did you gut the pre cats?

Anyone heard of these? or tried them out? M2 headers from ebay.

Does anyone know the length of both test pipes?
I bought a used Megan Cat back and I'm not sure if I got the Megan test pipe(for the Maxima) or for a 240sx or even if its the Isis test pipe.
I guess I should have asked the seller huh.

Ya there was a post were a guy measured a Megan test pipe Isis test pipe and cattman highflow cat the Megan was like more then an inch longer...

where would you purchase obx headers?
