P0011 is "Intake valve timing control performance" (IVT) for bank 1 of the engine. There is also an IVT for bank 2, but it causes code P0021.
Bank 1 consists of cylinders 1,3 & 5. This is the side of the engine towards the firewall. The IVT is Nissan part 23796-8J100 - Valve Assy-Solenoid, Valve Timing Control. list price $220.20, available on-line for around $166. Non-nissan part is less expensive. For example on rockauto.com: part # Dorman 917011 - $110.79 https://www.rockauto.com/getimage/ge...30-0&width=500 |
P0011
VQ35DE have two camshaft position sensor
:one near the radiator : one near the firewall (needs to remove the OEM airbox to access it) : both of them have green tab (to release them: push the green tab and pull the whole connector) Remove and clean, first those sensor , delete the code using OBD scan tool. If the code reappear, you need to replace those camshaft sensor with OEM Genuine Nissan parts |

I have the same issue before , I replaced both camshaft and crankshaft sensor based on the TSB
http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/tsb/NTB03-124.pdf Then, replace the engine oil with 5/30w Castrol GTX. The code error resolved. |
Remove, disassemble the solenoid and spray it out liberally with brake cleaner.

removed both ivt assemblies, sprayed the crap out of them, replaced both cam sensors...
