TCU swap and trans electircial probs?
any one swapped a TCU before?
Any one ever have there trans act up REALY bad after washing the car and or swapping out the IAC/TPS and repaired ECU?
gave mine a wash then did a typical high idle repair new IAC and TPS with a freshly professionally repaired ECU.
the battery tray area is ATE. man the old battery before my last battery must have been DUMPING the acid the tray is ATE and so is most every thing under it, the ground strap on the trans with a bit corroded and loose. dad tightned it up and started shifting a teeny bit better that or placebo effect or just therandom behaivor of the hard shifting and slipping.
for the record the trans is doing every thing the shift kits claim to fix VERBATIM.

HOWEVER while before the repair the trans was acting up it was very rare. like once ever 3 months or something. after the high idle repair it's like some swapped out my trans for bad one. night and day. like the trans suddenly went bad after sitting. i think it may be electirical. the olny thing that "changed" after the car was sitting, was i pulled the safety tab out to put in to neutral and park and i moved/push the car to the garage from the drive way and i washed it.
the safety tab is made for that so you can shift from neutral and park when the car isn't running under it's own power.
now the washing that could shorted something. HELL when the ECU originally when for all i know that could have taken the TCU out too for all i know.
gonna put it on the scanner again (Snap-On verus) and do an visual inspection on the lift maybe a loose or corroded wire.
any hints, tips or ideas?

for future reference it ended up being the new TPS, today i had a chance to hook up a scanner, the TPS has elongated holes and no reference for installation other than voltage. i had it at 0.14v and once i set it to 0.48v-0.50v the transmission works normally now.
car also starts ALOT quicker now.

The TPS tells the TCU the load in which you're dealing with....You should drive it slow thru all the gears and once you're back to a stop and at Idle then a full WOT acceleration thru all the gears so your TCU can have a picture of light throttle and WOT so it can provide a fast adaptive relearning curve to get you an awesome crisp shift!
