The Valve Body's curse haunts my car :(

Long time without posting here :D

Well my car got a problem with the transmission: When I put the shifter in D or R my car doesn't move until I push a little bit the throttle or even I don't need to push it but it moves after a long delay (5 seconds) and keeps moving in a nice way but when you stop, you can feel how the transmission itŽs trying to make a shift from 2 to 1. I inspected almost everything and it's OK, but I stepped with a post here in the forum where they talk about the infamous failure in the Valve Body of our cars. The part that makes me "grind my gears" it's that Nissan already know about this problem a loooong time about and they do nothing about it (at least here in Mexico) and many cars with the RE4F04B transmission got this problem.

Soo IŽll keep my beloved car parked in home and IŽll get a new set of solenoids for the valve body, even IŽll take advantage of that and will do the TransGo mod too.

Aaaah yes, and Happy New Year to everyone :D

Transgo? :naughty:

Mexico? No problem. I just went to the tranny experts a few months ago and got a replacement valve body for around $1,000 (pesos). Was around another thousand for the labour to replace it. Since then no problems at all. You will need to take the VB to the tranny place bc they all have different type numbers on them.

Actually very simple to do on your own too, if you'd like to save a few bucks.

:sprint:

If you're gonna replace whole VB as a unit its not whole lot of work in that

That's correct!

The solenoids will be OEM and brand new ($250 for them)

And for the transgo, I'll use this kit

I'll keep the same VB but I'll mod it. I studied the FSM about the removing and disassemble of the VB and it looks like a job that I can do without a lot of trouble.

The only part that I'll hate it's the mess that it will make the damn ATF
