Suspension or steering Experts: With Video (knocking)
Hey guys,
I have a 2001 5 Speed.
Attached there's a video illustrating a Knocking sound which seems to be coming from the passenger side wheel well.
This knocking sound happens as long as my foot is on the gas pedal. even driving at normal speeds or just cruising. once I lift off the pedal the noise stops. I have a STRONG feeling it might be the CV joint...
knocking starts at about 8 seconds into the video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk9Gxsnx9_0
but if anyone can pinpoint exactly what it is then.........holy ****, you deserve an award.

Video is pretty poor - can't tell if you're going straight or turning, how fast, plus it's at night. You gotta help us help you...
Setting that aside, with about 75% confidence, I agree with the concensus that it's the CV. If you think about it...what parts are under load only while your foot is on the gas? Drivetrain components. What's the main one that goes bad? Axle.
Further, an axle sounding that bad should have visible wear. Boot is probably nowhere to be found. Generally, noises are visible. Have a look around. Jack up the car, move the wheel around, yank on the axle. See what moves, see what makes noise.
