Here is the old driver side axle. It has a metal cap that covers the transmission seal.

This is the new axle from Napa. It doesn't have that cap. Is this OK?

Sometimes the rebuilt units don't come with one. You can pop the cap off the old one and put it on the new one. Just pry it off from behind with a sharp screwdriver or chisel.

It would probably be fine without it too but I'd rather have it.

Take the cap off the old and put it on the new one. Be careful as the metal is thin and you can bend it relatively easily.

Thanks. That is what I did.
