Car won't pass smog. Can't get catalyst monitor to show ready
Not ready to retire my car yet, but having trouble passing smog because I can't get the catalyst monitor to show ready. Took it to dealer and they are trying to say it needs a new cat. Dealer says bank 1 cat is operating slightly above minimal specs which makes it difficult for monitor to set. I changed the bank 1 upstream o2 sensor since it is the only one of the three that hasn't already been changed, but still no luck. Any gurus out there with tips on getting it to set. I got the drive cycle from the dealer already and have tried several times to follow it. Probably put about 1400 miles on the car and it won't change. If I can't get it to pass smog, anyone interested in buying a super clean 2000 se 5 speed:p
