Hey guys! I promised I looked before asking this.. But what do you think this sound is? I engage the clutch at 2 seconds and disengage at 6 seconds. Its not slipping, the transmission seems to be pulling strong and the motor ( with the exception of my faulty MAF..New one on the way) isn't acting weird. Also after 3rd gear, doesn't seem to be making noise.

Throw out bearing. :crusher1:

I guess I'm confused.. I thought the tob made like a chirping noise or something?

Can make whining or grinding noise...so bearing failure noise. I bet it's in a couple pieces.

If it's a 5 spd, then I guess input shaft bearing could be possible (usually a whine afaik), but it's very uncommon for 6 speed.

Ahh makes sense.. So I'm assuming if I don't fix it soon, major damage will occur? Sorry for the newb questions. Im way more in my element with motors than tranny and clutch issues.

Eventually you won't be able to shift at all.

If you have a 6 speed get the exedy oem replacement and OEM TOB. Cheap and solid.

I have to agree. TOB. That's a 6-speed car too.

You'll probably want to replace the clutch while you're in there. It's a fair amount of work to get to it.

thanks guys.. Bummer haha. Anyone have a write up of the process to do the repair?
