Hitachi Boost Sensor Hose Location

Hello All,

I have a 2000 Maxima and I had a question regarding where the the hose of the boost sensor connects to.

I was getting my car smogged (cali spec) when the tech at the star smog station failed for having the hose disconnected and another failed sensor.

I had the failed sensor replaced but I am lost as to the location of where that hose connects to for the boost sensor. I have looked in other threads and I know it has to do with an atmospheric pressure sensor.

In the other threads I have looked too they mention the location but the pictures they provided have long been expired and im more of a visual learner.

Please if someone has the stock setup if they could take a couple of pics where that hose leads to so i can take my car to get smogged and forget about this nightmare its been giving me. thank you.

There is no pressure sensor. Take a pic of the hose and where it runs to.

my car is a Cali spec and I never heard of a boost sensor nor seen one as with hose connected to lack thereof. I know there a few vacuum lines connection on intake manifold.

Ok here are the pictures. 1st one is where the boost sensor goes on (screwed right next to the stock intake)

Second pic is the hose i was referring to. The tech mentioned to me that hose connects to something and i don't know where it goes. The hose is attached underneath the boost sensor and has to connect to something.

I have never ever seen that on my car, since my car is all stock. Is your Maxima a 2000? since it's probably the very early edition before Nissan made some changes in mid-2000. That part you have there, I never seen before neither the hose. Could it be possibly someone had mod the car before you got it, since I looked up at Nissan FSB and there were no shown or known parts that you have there.

Unplug it and see if there's a code. That should flat out not exist.

From what I know my car is an early model 2000 so it does make sense that is has this. If it makes any difference the car is an automatic. No that part is from the manufacture. It even says Nissan on it in a tiny font.

If you're talking about the "absolute pressure sensor"That hose comes from the air box, it's one of the small hoses that tees off out of the air box

The sensor next to my positive battery terminal is where I relocated my boost sensor, OE location is on the air duct going into the air box(over the upper radiator hose) bolts onto it, most other maxima I've seen do not have this sensor but still have the location on the OE air duct for it.

Btw 2000 se 5 spd man manufacturer date September 1999 210,500 oe motor/trans.
