Power steering belt tensioner

anyone know how to replace it?? I thought I could reach and unscrew the top bolt but I was wrong. Must be a nut on the other side and I’m not sure the easiest way to access it.

i went to change the belt since I’m squeels but the tensioner screw is broken. Already have the new part.

thanks in advance

There is write up's and you tube videos all over for it. If you have the part then you should be able to tell how it comes off. I just changed it with my alternator last week.

I must be slow. I see write ups for the tensioner up too in the engine bay but that is for the alternator belt. I can’t see where I have access to the power steering belt.

guess I’ll keep searching

Here is a video on changing the power steering pump belt. It shows how to loosen the tensioner, so maybe you can get enough info to change it.

Key to it is that you must loosen the 14mm bolt behind the pump before messing with the tensioner

Belt is loose or squeals, b/c it's junk? If it's tight enough...

...then you can just cut the old one off and crank the new one on with a screwdriver.

Nope the belt squeels because it is loose. I can not tighten it because the longer tensioner bolt is snapped. Just one of those things I will have to figure out.

You could try a slightly smaller belt and put it on as I described.

go to the dealer ...save yourself the headache. I got the new tensioner and belt installed for $160

Here's the video I used to change mine,
. Changing the power steering belt requires you to remove the other serpentine belt as well so it's best to do both at once. I don't recommend doing it yourself unless you have all of the tools needed because these bolts are difficult to access. If your bolts are broken as you say, you're in a tough spot and I would look at getting some repair estimates from some local pro's in dealing with that. Because if you remove the belts and are unable to reattach them, your Max will be inoperable and you'll be looking at an expensive tow bill.
