Vq30 de-k vias fix improvement
I will get pictures up asap but for now thought I'd do the write up as it should be substantial for what to do so pictures of the assembly can be looked up for time being. For starters the rotating cup is not brass, soldered originally, and not mounted to a fragile pin. After the in weld failed me and left my vias which when I put it back in was hardened, set right, and fit correctly has shifted position over a few months. I hate jb weld. A magnet sticks to the cup. Just saying. I knocked that crazy looking spider retainer out, hammered the pin and bearing out to find out that is actually a beefy pin. if your careful you can weld them back together. Even as a fabricator I chose a different route. I drilled a hole a decent ways through it and used a small tap, small headed hex bolt (stainless because I had a bunch laying around so why not?), lock washer, and loctite. If sized well enough the butterfly valve will either fit right over or can be drilled a little nor open and just the tip will do. Also no mess to have to die grind out and risk messing up should you have to service it again...

I will have them up as soon as I can I have not had the time to tinker lately. I did run the engine with no power bar at all and couldn't tell a whole lot of difference in the low end I might add. I do have headers and a test pipe though...

Sorry it took me so long to take these. Had other issues arise so I put it off. Here's my take on the vias fix... Also gutted, ported, and polished lower intake on both cars...
