No reason when OEM is MLS. Just clean and reuse.

damn, are new OEMs that expensive. seems like the invitation to possible low spot/leak? i mean once it's been compressed it's been compressed no? guess i don't under stand the how MLS works or why it's a big deal?

They are layer metal. They don't crush like you think. Think of them as leaf springs more or less. They are way stronger, reusable, and less sensitive when installing.

Yeah, just reuse it as long as it hasn't been leaking and eroding.
If it's in bad shape go with another MLS from a good brand.

Leaking EMG will just coat the area around under the valve cover with black carbon layer
Its best to replace with OEM because they put counterfeit parts on the market
