Rear brake question
Just confirming that I need a special rental caliper tool to twist the caliper in so I can fit new pads is this the correct method?
|
You can get away with a square metal bar of the right size.
Are you sure Gen 5 still uses twist-in pistons? Gen 6 is push-in. |

Yeah, I have the $3 square type. Works just fine.

Well I rented this kit from O'Reilly and it kind of fit but it worked! Thanks everybody!https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/maxima....8faea73686.jpg

no rotor replacement?
|
My bad, I thought that 5 gen would be the same kind of piston as 3d gen had. I wonder if an angle grinder key would work on this piston???
Apparently, where you are things don't rust - they get moldy :) |
The rotors were pretty rusty from sitting 2 years in mud. Lol I know it looks like mold it's actually a product by Rust-Oleum that removes rust and creates a white chalky substance when it's working until it's scraped and washed away https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/maxima....7b8b6d46af.jpg
